From Agent to Music Publisher to Record Label Exec to Manager, Richard Griffiths has seen and done it all in the Music Business. In England, Richard broke the conventions of what constituted the standard publishing deal, certainly in contrast to how those deals were negotiated in the United States. Richard has also signed countless artists as an A&R. To say Richard is an expert in signing artists would be an understatement. But, publishing deals and record deals are two different ballgames. A record label will have different interests in their artists versus a Music Publishing company. Artists NEED Entertainment Attorneys a LOT worst than 'managers'. I've a bit of inc. background, so I comprehend.
That Legal Dept. be the big guns of any inc., be it the acts or the big inc.
I'm not sure I agree with your assessment that artists need attorneys more than managers. Lawyers make deals and review contracts and when they are done they are on to the next thing. The manager is there every day working for the artist making sure the points negotiated in record deals, pub deals, band agreements etc actually mean something. Don't get me wrong. Having a great attorney on your team is crucial but in all my experience a great manager can make the biggest difference for an artist.

This was great, I just recently signed a Admin deal and I'm now a publisher with many acts and contacts to more all pros most with record deals, pub or some type past placement.
My question is what's best way to or average % to pay your clients out when giving a fare deal?
I have all the key parts a publisher needs, distribution, media, PR, pub deal, access to Tv and film placement but know I face the task of making all parts work.... Lol i'm quite nervous but I hope to swim!🙌🏾 keep posting great videos like this one thank you very much
