I've heard it said that people in our situation become very resourceful, but Spring had taken that to a whole new level! Thank you Spring and Tanelle for sharing! 👏
Great idea! Thanks! I have no problem with my leg bag until it gets full and bulky and then one leg looks bigger than the other, lol! I have a friend who is a great seamstress and am calling her right now to make me a little black bag! Awesome, awesome! :)
this is awesome! Thanks for posting. I’m in England, from Oregon it’s REI where you get the your materials. Please get these made yesterday! Please keep us posted & until then I’m ordering stuff now. Thanks again for the wonderful video
Omg! Paraplegic for 10 years. Superpubic catheter for 6 and I would love this!! I always find it difficult travelling anywhere in my chair cause the tubing for my catheter is so long an gets so cruddy and gross! This could give me so much more self confidence. I wish it was in production. I’d buy 2!
That was rather insightful, thank you for sharing a hard subject to talk about. It’s always amazes me how the companies that make the pee bags couldn’t figure this out for themselves. Why don’t these companies ever think to hire people that use the products, they’d get an education and a heck of a lot of insight. BTW it’s really great to see you looking well after such a major surgery.
I have MS and getting a catheter shortly . I've been trying to think how to disguise it in my wheelchair too. Thank you so much for the help in this video! 👍😊
I love the privacy of the bag and dark/black tubing and could really use the setup. Is either of you a paraplegic waist down and do you have movement(s) in part of your feet and legs, I do not have any foot or leg movement?
This is great. I am using a catherer for the first time and it will be temp, buy I get all my med. care from the VA, I know they must have a ton of people in your situation. I am going to make them look at this TH-cam Vid. You two are great. -Bruce
Good morning ladies.. I don't have a bladder.. so I have no catheter.. I have a urostomy and also attach an extension bag from the tap at the bottom of the urostomy bag to a 2 litre night drain bag, and then hang it from the side of my powerchair (in a cover bag), or let it hang from my Kuschal manual chair.. I also have a colostomy on the other side of my belly and change that twice a day... I'm a self contained toilet!.. it's a system I've use for 13 years since becoming a para after my accident.. it works, and I never use a leg bag.. (Phil)
I did also make something like that, many years ago (15), when I still had my permanent catheter. Never saw that with anybody else.. And then one day I transfered into the car and forgot about it.. was a painful happening, but fortunately nothing was damaged. Later I had an operation and did not need the bag anymore. I am very very happy with that.
Does she have a Permobile? I am wondering as I spent two summers working at the final control at the factory wherte they assembled them here in Sweden. :) My mother made the chairs at the same factory. And hope it is okay to ask.
Wish I had that bag. I’m on day 5 with my leg bag and I’ve skipped class because of the spasms and embarrassment of having a leg bag. Pain in the butt to keep having to empty out too. They don’t hold a lot.
Just wondering does everyone that's paraplegic or has Had a spinal cord injury had to have a catheter? Thanks for being so informative we all appreciate You both
Thank you so much for sharing!! We have a family member in wheelchair and on catheter post stroke and it’s been a struggle learning how to best handle each scenario on their behalf.. it would be immensely appreciated if you can share advice regarding smell; the condo where he lives has a pungent smell of urine and I am not sure if that’s normal as he is bed ridden; the nurses the come every day don’t have any suggestions.. but I can’t imagine that’s normal and that there isn’t a better way.. ie is there an air purifier that would work? A better quality bag/system that you’d recommend?
This is probably a good one to bring to the public of Pro Tips. I'll make a video asking the audience on this one. I know what you're talking about and I don't have any good suggestions myself.
I take care of my mom who lives with me and my biggest fear was that my home would reek of urine and smell like a nursing home. She has had a peripubic catheter for about 8 years now but only recently, the last 6 months have we had a problem with a putrid odor. She has bacteria that has colonized now in her bladder (meaning...if I understand it correctly...its going to always be there now...a new normal). So our morning routine now has me flushing her catheter/bladder with warm tap water, and then washing/rinsing out her overnight bag with 4-1 water/vingear. I am surprised this has really helped with the odor! She doesn't use a leg bag, it was really labor intensive having to empty it all the time. I bought an "under the wheelchair" bag and the overnight bag sits in there. I empty it morning & evening.
Thank you ladies for sharing your great idea - very impressive. I am the VP of Sales at Urocare Products and a fan of yours from the UK referred me to this site. I wanted to extend our appreciation to both of you for using and recommending our Reusable Latex Leg Bag, Quick Drain Valve and Cleaning Brush. If you are considering marketing your idea as a complete system to others please feel free to reach out to us for any additional support you might need at sales@urocare.com. Thank you for your continued support!
I LOVE your shirt!!! Oh, they are latex though...I have Job's (hyper IgE) and am not allergic to latex, but respond as though I am. Do they have them in non latex? Thank you Spring and Tanelle. I added this to my bookmarks...thanks for this video! Can you show an up close view of the black tube ad the end attachments please? I would buy one of these in a heart beat if they were on the market. I was watching Chris Colwell when he was doing his TedX talk in Dubai, and he had this big old urine bag simply attached to his chair...and I thought (and mentioned to him in a comment), why he had a big bag of urine out....it looked ugly. I also sent this video to Zack Collier who wears a leg bag all the time with a bandana tied around it.
The black tube is neoprene. None of the latex components touch the skin regularly unless you're emptying it with your hands (the bag hangs on the outside of the chair, zero skin contact/irritation)
@@ProTipsForParasok, I'd have to empty it though. They have to have non latex you would think....By the way, I'm assuming she empties hers...can she demonstrate how though...I have no hand function either.
@@ProTipsForParas someone should you had some very good ideas. You seem to have contacts with the outdoors companies or I have no idea how you can do it, contacting someone like the people on Shark Tank
@@ProTipsForParas exactly why not! Good luck to you oh, I know this product will help and change many people's lives and give them a lot more self-confidence out in public.
How are you doing? How are you feeling? I have tried using leg bags in the past and they would work for a little while, but then my penis would cave in and I would have an accident. My spasms always cause this, and yes this embarrasses me because it happens a lot . I wear adult briefs that have a lot of padding in them, and I have to change every four hours. My spasms basically control my bladder.
They have implants for this problem. I know a quad who wears a condom catheter and had the implant so he would always be hard so the condom catheter would stay on.

Even though I am not paralyzed, I think it is interesting to see how these things works. It is great to openly talk even about taboo topics.

Most of us, yes. Few are lucky enough to recover their bladder function
Hello I have been paralyzed for 12 years is it dangerous to still have a indwelling catheter and what tips can you give me on catheter care Thank you
Omg genious!!! 👍🏻
Question about cleaning. On website it states to not use vinegar, have you had any issues from using? Thankyou. I'm new with suprapubiç .
I know people who use vinegar and have had no issues with it. Myself I do not have an indwelling because of bladder sensitivities

Back in 2005 when I was just 19 1/2 years old, like I said I wore a leg bag and I would always wear jeans or joggy pants to hide my leg bags.
Ya! long dresses in the summer time, long pants all the other times.
