@@jeffd.3883 NJ was always sludge and i found a few sludge parts in this song. It isnt sludge like a main genre, more hardcore, but there are few parts. But i think, that this genre in overal, is norma jean
They don't fit the bill for summer slaughter. But I also don't care because they're gonna be the freaking best band there!!! So excited! Also Dillenger, Periphery, and Animals as Leaders will be awesome. But still. None compare to the Almighty Norma Jean.
I was talking about an All Shall Perish song when I said Black Gold Reign. All Shall Perish is anything but generic, they are deathcore, but not generic deathcore.
also their last album is awesome I think, way better than the previous ones, more melodic, more catchy, more "metalcore" without being a metalcore album of course

It's called a stroboscopic effect. There are all kinds of examples on youtube. Pretty cool.
The strings really do that but we just see it as a blur. I think they use high speed cameras to catch the vibrations more vividly.
