I understood it as what depression does to a person. It deprives of the life you established, follows you everywhere (like a shark, or a black dog), and finally devours you.
Yeah I watched this and then had to look up the Street Sharks cartoon from the 90’s and binge watched it for 4 hours. Have to be awake for work in 3 hours. Thanks Norma Jean.
I love this entire album!! It shows the depth of Norma Jean. May not be as heavy as they have been in the past but this album just has so much more feeling to it.

John Danger Redeemer was just too dopesick. That was my first metalcore album and I was new to the style. I actually didn't really like it when I first bought it...but like a fine wine enthusiast I cultivated the taste for it, and it is awesome!
Remember listening to these guys back in the day when they were originally called Luti-Kriss. great album to check out. and also Project 86 is another good listen. great band.
I could care less about their music changing, I'm just glad these guys represent something positive. Some people love a band for the music, but others like the ideals and purpose behind what a band stands for. Would you criticize a pastor for what he wears, or how he speaks...or would you criticize him for his message and what he stands for?
The words in a song are damn near irrelevant to anyone besides the writer. The voice is just another instrument to be used as a tool to take nothing more than an idea or collection of ideas and make a piece of art(just like all forms of art). The words can carry a message, but who honestly cares? And I would always judge a pastor in every respect, especially since they think they hold some kind of moral imperative that they pull their thoughts out of a book written by sheep herders.

Norma Jean's music has aged so well for me. I love them more with every passing year.
