not only that, they have consistently improved. At this point I would put Cory in the running as a strong contender for best metal singer ever. Norma Jean is great.
i like all iterations of the band, but look up the lineup changes. idont even know if theres an original member left. been awhile since i read about them but yeah this bands gone thru a few dif vocalist
@@dakotahsteier5481 there's not. They had switched every member by like 2012. They kept the spirit though. The first singer went on to do the chariot which was amazing. Now 68
Song title comes from the Bible, Revelation chapter 19 verse 12 reads: "His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself." and verse 15 reads: "And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God."
The shark seems to me a metaphor for depression. It follows him throughout his day and gets the best of him at his job. He goes home and it eats him whole. Wow much feels very relate
We calmly weigh our thoughts before we know them Careful not to break our only scale But there’s no lament in taking chances Fall a little while before we soar Sword in mouth and helpless in the bond we have between us Fire eyes and desperate for the helplessness we love Turn to walk the path in my reflection But not before the sheep becomes the wolf Loveless without shame. I love this entire album!! It shows the depth of Norma Jean. May not be as heavy as they have been in the past but this album just has so much more feeling to it.
This guy's voice is just as heavy as the guitars, man. It's almost like he's trying to out shine the rest of the instruments despite the fact they all come together perfectly. This shit's rad!
Yeah I watched this and then had to look up the Street Sharks cartoon from the 90’s and binge watched it for 4 hours. Have to be awake for work in 3 hours. Thanks Norma Jean.
Don't understand what is going on in the comments, but this album is phenomenal. Really powerful lyrics and well written songs that cover everything you could want. The old Norma Jean may be "Dead" but the new one is pumping out quality! Keep it coming! Support Southern Rock!!

Really glad I decided to check these guys out. Didn't want to at first because of the band name & thumbnail. Just didn't seem like it would be this type of music. This is amazing. Gonna go check out some of the older stuff.
Save The Fallen. We have a single up on TH-cam if you want to check it out! It's called "Planet Zebes" Our new record will be released on the 17th this month
I think that this song is an example of a song that retains NJ's hard, southern punk, and gritty nature while appealing to an audience that can appreciate straight-up radio-friendly alt rock tunes. NJ feels like they've ALWAYS been a band with somewhat of a cult following--almost sort of indie-underground while they've put out so many albums with such a loyal fanbase. This, to me, is smart writing because it's listener-friendly enough to expose them to a wider audience. No breakdowns, no blast-beats, no drawn out screaming, Cody shows off his vocal chops, the guitar has a nice droney little lick at the end, and the hook is actually pretty catchy. I hope this single booms and takes this band to the next level. Like mainstream, KOL-Foo Fighters status because they've been working their asses off for so many years and it'd be good for rock fans to finally be exposed to a veteran band's repertiore of outstanding, wonderful heavy rock music. Thanks Norma Jean. Your music has helped me keep going through many struggles. End-rant.
John Danger Redeemer was just too dopesick. That was my first metalcore album and I was new to the style. I actually didn't really like it when I first bought it...but like a fine wine enthusiast I cultivated the taste for it, and it is awesome!

The words in a song are damn near irrelevant to anyone besides the writer. The voice is just another instrument to be used as a tool to take nothing more than an idea or collection of ideas and make a piece of art(just like all forms of art).
