I've lost exactly same on like this one here on 28th of June 2013. Luckily I've survived the crash - but been 317 days on a sick leave. A blind lady started a U-turn in front of me. I loved this bike - lot of character, great sound, good comfort, single swing arm and something different than all other bikes. I miss you my friend.
I have one of these. New from 2008. It’s a great bike. In fairness I do t use it a huge amount at the moment since having a child. Time is tighter now! As most bikers do I glance around the ads and reviews and regularly get tempted to change but to find a bike that does all of the things this bike does so well, and at a decent price is not easy. Enough power, enough comfort, decent tank, reasonable luggage, enough handling. Does nothing best but everything well. Great machine.
Hi mark I just love the ST I’ve had 3 and want an other as my 2nd bike again (wife not happy). There is no room under the seat for anything because the exhaust box is there. I metal polished the exhaust tail pipes very shiny and looked lovely plus a nice cough and splutter on roll off. Only down side for me was the lights, not bright at all but I didn’t care I just love triumph. Boxes not very big inside but will do the job for a week touring the Hebrides.
Agree I had the seat up yesterday to just see the battery and that's all you can get under there I found the lights ok but not been in bad weather on it Maybe like on my tiger a LED upgrade might be the way forward Thanks for watching bud Take on the road bud And just don't tell the wife ! Just say it's always been there pmsl
Nice to hear from you! I was wondering what had happened with you with no recent postings. Glad to know everything is OK. Very hot here in Texas and I am not riding as much but I hope to take a short ride today! Good luck see you next time. 🎥👍🛵🙃
Lovely bikes, but the only thing you really have to watch for is for the subframe that cracks and snaps apart. Not sure if it is only with a topcase, panniers or bothe together, but could have been fixed on later bikes. My brothers cracked and snapped on both sides just using a topcase!
Simply one of the best bikes I've ever owned. Early ones were sold in dealerships with all the optional extras included if the buyer used a provided finance deal... They're still out there with everything on them for not much money. Tour, commute, scratch, polish, repeat. Service it yourself with some free software called TuneECU and save literally thousands. Suspension is crap and needs replacing with something better- I've got a Hagon on mine which works superbly.
Nice video. Bought one a few weeks ago with 15k miles here in the States. Love the bike so far. I had an MT10 but it was just not my thing. That was a crazy bike with tons of torque and power and loved to wheelie all day long. However, It sucked for 2up and I just wanted something to bang around on that was inexpensive. The Sprint Has some Get up and go but nothing special. It's a friendly bike to ride.
@@marksavage there seems to be plenty of info out there the more I look. Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying the bike. It's stunning in all black. Ride safe !
Thanks for another great review. You mentioned that the Tiger 800 is more comfortable, how much more comfortable would you say and why? As I'm looking to either buy the ST1050 or a Tiger 800 for a daily 50mile commute on mostly motorway and some London filtering.
would it be a better option to get a Malossi variator opposed to cutting the pink wire? would this still increase my top speed on my Yamaha neos 4t bear In mind I'm not cutting the pink wire?
I don't like cutting the pink wire but you can always reconnect it I'd go with upgrades but you are right It's a 4t and like I say on the lexmoto I had Sometimes you get what you get and that's all it will do ,otherwise they don't last and break down Use it as is till you get a 125 bud or buy another 50cc Thata what I'd do
I had One of these for a few weeks last Year, Loved it! kind of miss it now TBH and I would buy another One no problem, I actually reviewed it on my channel too, with the Carbon after market cans :)
They are all round niceto ride , cheap and a bit of fun when you want it , I did like your comment about dis likes !! I too think the same way ___ WHY lol Would rather they tell me what they think I'm doing wrong Within 5mins of my winter bike video I had a dis like Grrr lol Take care bud and thanks for watching
Hi Mark, this is very helpful. I own a 16 XRT, have no desire to be rid of it, but want something more sporty for fun in the twisties. I'm a bit vertically challenged, and find my tiger to be very top heavy and not confidence inspiring. Can you comment on the relative feel of the sprint, particularly in the twists? Thanks.
they do handle well but compared to the tiger can feel more like a straight line bike till you get used to banking again, then away you go and a little lower for you .
I've had a break of a few years and now getting a new bike. Looking at one of these, but wondering if they're a bit too much to start back on and possibly a 600 might be more sensible until I've relearned a few forgotten skills. Would you say the power could be intimidating for a born again biker? Most I've ridden in the past is a 919 hornet. Great video, love the outtakes. Thanks.
hi bud , to be honest if it was a kawasaki 750 or a R1 i'd say yes but triumph's seem to be happy going slow or fast down back roads. it's going to be more the weight of the bike than you getting back in the saddle, moving it around and the first few bends then your be right back at home again remembering how bloody silly some car drivers are !! take care bud
Ride out will be great, nice review mate the sound was very good. Love the triple exhaust out the seat like that looks amazing. Great to see you back in front of the camera 👍. P.s nice sofas lol. all the best

Have one of these, 2009, black, three box luggage and outrageous Trident triple exhaust. Used it for touring and love it, (more than my old VFR800) so much so that I've shied away from changing it for the last 3-4 years as nothing feels better, (125bhp is ample, had a blade RR6 before and this doesn't feel like a step down) but now is the time. Was going to put an offer in on an 800xrt Tiger, but the panniers look odd - one sticks out further, so STILL NOT DECIDED🤔......Z1000sx?? Anyway - Long way of saying 'Hi' and yes, great bike.
hi bud z1000sx ! , I had a few of them now ( videos on here) and well think your miss the triumph lol but worth a test ride take care bud and thanks for watching
Well I guess since I have the same year and color bike, I should subscribe eh? Bought mine new in 2008. Been great, except for the times the girl has left me stranded because it deciedes not to start...refuses to even try to turn over. ADV bike in my future but I sure will be sad selling the old gal...she still makes me smile. Cheers!
its common and due to the power lead from the battery to the starter , i have it on my tiger 1050 now ! i changed the head light bulbs and its starts fine now but will still have to upgrade the start power lead , great all round bikes all but this annoying problem as for the adv yes i have looked into them but didnt want to pay out for one at present
125 BHP, isn't bad. My 2002 955i has 116 HP. But the genius is that the Triple cyl. has such a flat torque curve. The torque is available much sooner in the rev range and stays there almost all the way up to redline near 9000 RPM. This makes the bike very rideable in the real world and feels like much more HP than it really is. Sure your not going to beat a R1 or a GSXR 1000 at the track, but that isn't what this bike is about.
which tiger bud , as this video was on the st1050 , i do have many tiger videos on the 800cc and the 1050cc both are good bikes but not sports bikes bud
Congratulations on the subs fella, remember when I said your channel deserved a lot more subs, glad to see I was proved right. I traded in the ST for a Trophy and have to say, am absolutely loving the Trophy. Was luckily enough to pick it up a day before I did a Scotland tour and it didn't miss a beat. Have a couple more twos in the pipeline, Wales and France / Spain in August and Scotland in September, so looking forward to those. Brother loves the Sprint, same 1050 as the speed triple I think.. Why did they do that soppy bollocks with the seat, that makes no bloody sense.. Why not put a key lock by the number plate like the trophy?? Wheres the battery on those?
Yes bud you did say and been with me from the start and thanks for that As for rhe battery yes under the seat lol Got to love the trophy they are great and for the fuel as we did the isle of white and back on one tank 286 miles well just as in my video lol Wow you are doing some touring So enjoy that We wont be doing that now with the wife's knees but still maybe some short trips But all in bud really good to hear from you Take care mate
