I've had my 2011 ST for 9 years now, I'm often tempted by other newer bikes, but then I just go for a blast on the Sprint, and realise it's everything I need and more. I don't think I'll ever sell it. It's such a good all-rounder and seriously under rated/overlooked by many. Great video, I really enjoyed it thanks.
I’m considering buying one. I currently have a Speed Triple. But, I’ve been wanting a sport bike with taller gearing. Is the ST a top end, vs bottom end, performer? Thanks!

I had a couple of sprints,03 silver 955i and 05 1055 silver, Great bikes! I kept the 05 and bought a tiger and a Rocket 3 and out of every Bike I have owned in my life time (54 bikes) I only have the 05 sprint now but it still does for me A BLAST FROM THE PAST Great Review Andy
That bike looks as if it left the production line last week, not seventeen years ago !! Somebody must have cherished it. Great looking bike, the colour is beautiful. Great video.
Thanks Andy enjoyed hearing how you got into biking😀 My colleague at work rides a Sprint ST and he got me back into biking a few years ago by giving me a step thru moped during a train strike when my local station was closed. The rest is history as they say and I’ve never looked back. I’ll share this video with him as I’m sure he will enjoy it.
Bought exactly this model in 2005 and absolutely loved it. I took it all round Europe and one of the best all round bikes I have ever owned. Great review Andy!
I must say that that review put me in a happy place. I've been lucky enough to ride both the ST & GT for an extended test ride. Both were comfortable, the GT's longer wheelbase makes it a good long distance motorway/A-road tourer. But the ST was so much fun on the twisties I thought it was more fun to ride as an everyday bike. I've turned down a couple in the past and regret it very much now. By the way that exhaust looks like an aftermarket system from Trident which sounds epic! Thanks to those Guys at the campsite, we are now fortunate to have all this content. Nice one Sir!
I’ve owned the Tiger 1050, Sprint ST 1050 and a Speed Triple 1050 and I’d put the Sprint ST at the top. It does everything perfectly, very comfortable, sounds great and was very reliable. Why Triumph don’t offer a New Sprint ST 1200 to rival the Ninja 1000sx is madness!
Every time I have a look at the Tiger 660 I think exactly the same thing… but even at 1050 or 900 displacement the machine would be a winner if they could keep the weight at or near the class minimum
I own a 2016 z1000sx, very popular in that market segment. A Sprint 1200 could be very competitive and desirable in that class - and not beyond the realms of possibility I hope.
I have owned a 2007 version for 8 years now and still use it for commuting. The only issue I have had in that time is a reg/rec failure which also took out the stator. I replaced the lot myself for the princely sum of less than £200. Range for me is well over 200 miles on a tank and with Michelin road Vs fitted, it is a great bike to ride.
Concur completely! I too had to replace my regulator/rectifier and the stater. I installed a Nitron rear shock and a Racetech front suspension. I have a 2005 and it's a wonderful machine. Fast. The bags on keeps it under 120mph. Ha!
I bought a 2003 955i ST a few years ago. Put 40,000 miles on it since then. Lovely bike. I think you were amiss by not at least mentioning how tractable these triples are. From low down in the rev range they can be loafed around town without complaint and still accelerate quickly. At the top of the range they come on hard and rev freely. Missenden Flyer, your reviews are top notch.
Best range I’ve had so far in mine is 265 miles poodling around Norway. Over 200 is standard. Fab bike apart from the mirrors and headlights. Glad you enjoyed it. Will help keep the resale price up! Not that I’m planning to sell any time soon.
A good review of a solid all rounder, this is the bike that took me from Yamahas to Triumphs in 2005 and I've never looked back. I know you shouldn't have to 'tinker' with modern bikes but if to take the mirrors apart (very simple job) then add adhesive wheel weights to the body of mirror stem you totally alleviate the vibrations.
I had a 2007 Sprint ST in Caspian Blue as my first bike in 2016. A beautiful bike of which I covered over 4000 miles on. Only got rid in 2018 for a new Speed Triple. Great review - many thanks TMF 👍
I had an 05 ST with ABS. Absolutely loved it, especially after I had the TOR exhaust fitted and mapped. At 178cm, found the early low handlebars a little cramped and my aged knees suffered after a couple of hours. Would have another in a heartbeat, especially with a metal tank rather than plastic.
I had the 2003 955i that I loved until a car - wall interface destroyed it. I was going to get the 1050 but got a 99 blackbird instead that I swear is the same as that old ST but a bit more in every way. The 1050 you rode had the trident aftermarket pipes and higher bars with factory heated grips. Whilst white wheels were an option, they weren't standard as such. Absolutely amazing machine that I may end up owning one day. Beware modern petrol that can rot the plastic.
I’ve owned my sprint for 3 years now and it’s been an awesome bike to own (and mine has ABS). I only recently did my review of the bike a few months ago. It certainly is a great bike, it’s a shame the sports tourer was dying out when they were released, I would love to see Triumph release an updated model. Couldn’t agree more with everything you said mate, the bike is amazing and really is something that should still be considered if someone is looking for a sports tourer 🤘 Great video mate, stay safe out there
I'm in Aus. and I love my ST. I stepped straight up from a 250cc twin to my ST because it felt so natural. I loved the fact that what you do with your right wrist is what the bike does and the triple is very forgiving of rookie mistakes. Now that I have been riding quite a while I find it easy to keep up with my friends on straights and in the twisties regardless of what they are riding and I generally get off after a long ride feeling alot fresher than they do (we're all older guys). Just a great all around bike and it's staying in my garage regardless of what ever else I get.
I've ridden 2 an st and gt. I'm not a big fan of them, but that's the beauty of biking we don't all have to like the same ones. :) Great review as always.
I am the proud 2nd owner of probably the lowest mileage 1999 sprint 955i ST in the country and absolutely love it!!! It's inky my second bike, and have inly been riding 18months but it is an amazing bike. Great video, as always!
Me too 😂 Easy to get sucked into the 'new bike circus' as I well know... Nothing wrong with these older bikes, buy well and have a cracking machine that wont bleed money as all the depreciation has finished a long time ago - in fact it may go up depending what it is and condition 😮 We are all mad not to if you think about it.... 🤓
Great video! I bought a new red 2007 model and did 105,000 kms in 7 years before selling it to a mate in 2014 who has done another 50,000 trouble free kms. I even shipped my Sprint to the UK from Australia several times with the wife as my pillion to tour the UK and Europe and even go to the IOM TT. Great bike great memories. Thanks TMF! 😊
Made me chuckle hearing you passed your test in 2012…I passed mine in 1977 😱 one of my all time favorite bikes your reviewing it’s absolutely awesome..
Once upon a time, I dreamed of this model Triumph. However, a lack of dealers in my region put me off the brand. I bought a VFR800 instead. So glad to see this great review. I've loved this segment of motorcycles for many years
Hi TMF, I love these 'Classic' bike videos. I was thinking about bikes I admired when I was learning to ride. One bike which was iconic back then was the Suzuki Kantana, I'd love to see a review on this bike.
Thank you for the great review! I can’t wait for my black 2008 Sprint to arrive, it will be any day now. (The seller lives a few hundred km away and will deliver it to my doorstep.) The looks of it, the sound, the power - and everything else just made me fall in love. If only the weather could be warmer soon…
I had 2 of these and you just reminded me how good they were. Comfy, sporty and fitted me at 6ft. Did everything from commuting to a trip to Croatia via the Alps. I'm really not sure why they have that T plane engine these days... the old 120 was superb. To BMW's advantage though, otherwise I could be persuaded off my GS onto a Tiger.
Another great review of a beautiful bike. I look forward to every post. Your positive, enthusiastic, attitude makes this channel my favorite. I’m going to break out my 2008 Speed Triple! Cheers from Texas!
My first ever motorbike after passing my full test was an 02 plate triumph sprint rs 955. Loved every single second of owning that bike but trying to get storage for an 02 plate bike and convincing the other half to be lent forward for hours on long trips became the only reason I sold it as I used it as a daily commuter but what a bike. Highly recommended and pretty cheap on the secondhand market
Being lucky enough to be friendly with my local triumph dealer , I got to ride the demo bikes to put some miles on them and loved them. one of the best bikes triumph ever made in my opinion !
Met my riding buddy a decade back when he showed up at a group ride on a green Sprint ST w/ his wife on the back. I was on my much loved '08 Bandit 1250. We rode like that for the better part of the next decade. He defected (briefly) to a Concours 14, but it didn't last. He showed up one day on another Sprint ST... this time in the brightest RED ever! Beautiful bike that got compliments everywhere we stopped.
Thanks Andy, great vid, I had a 2010 red version which I loved. Great ride, great sound. I got hoofed off it in Spain and it was written off. So sad, as Triumph had ceased production of the ST and only made the GT which just wasn't the same. A great trip down Memory Lane.👏👍
We need more old bike reviews!! Yamaha fz6 fazer, ninja 600, cbr600, those sort of bikes that people will buy as a first bike, great reviews as always 💪🏼
Haha, this is also the bike that got me into motorbiking. Came home from my first year of uni and my Dad took me out on the back of his silver one. He wasn't used to the weight on the pillion seat and pulled accidental wheelies off every roundabout. Can still hear the TOR exhaust he had. Great video!
Sweet soundtrack. So the big question Mr F is will we see this of a different ST in your garage? I think it would be a circle of life moment and perfect homage to the bike that changed your whole life. Poetic and romantic. 🏍🏍🏍
Thanks Andy I love the Sprint range, I own several Triumphs now, I am a Triumph fan boy like you, I have owned an '04 Sprint ST 955i and a 2011 Sprint GT 1050, both amazing Sports tourers. I love your Classic reviews! Keep up the good work mate, from down under in OZ
V late review from me! This video popped up on my feed and had to check it out. The ST was the bike that got me back into bikes Xmas 21 after a break of 13 years. I bought a black one which needed a revamp of the electrics (R&R, stator and battery) but otherwise was immaculate. Added the trident exhaust which is what you have on your review bike and it was perfect. You can even retune the bike with free online software from ECUtune. I’ve traded up a bunch of times since but the ST still turns my head..
I had a new Sprint ST 955i in 2001 and kept it for 16 years. It took me comfortably all over Western Europe in that time. Plenty of power and handled like a dream. Just wish the MT07 had more comfort but it is a lot lighter which was the main requirement in 2017. My best mate had the 1050 and we had great times on the roads. Like the review and totally agree with your findings, Ride safe.
Nice review Andy…I had this exact bike in the same color. I absolutely loved this bike and was proud to ride this bike through the USA streets. I actually had two police officers here In the U.S. pull me over………..not to give me a ticket, but they stopped me to look at the bike.
You have a habit of uploading bike reviews of bikes that I'm considering haha. It was either going to be the Dn01 or the Sprint. Well yesterday I put the deposit down on a sprint! Thanks TheMissendenFlyer! 👍
Just found your channel, what a great review and a great choice of bike :) I had a '05 model that I used mainly for travelling 200+ miles each way for work (I worked away and needed to carry a weeks' worth of kit in one go) but it could also go for a blast out quite happily. Fantastic machine, which I made the mistake of trading in for an '05 955i Daytona, a decision I deeply regretted. The mirror wobble is a well-known issue, the solution is 3 wheel weights glued to the underside of the mirror housing, that sorts it out. That Ixil exhaust on your test bike doesn't sound much different to the standard can, but believe me one of these with a Trident system or even a Triumph TOR can is aural poetry when you open it up.
Thanks Andy, really enjoyed this. If you want to know how your videos effect your viewers, I paused halfway through and went onto the Superbike Factory website to look at either the Triumph Tiger 1050 sport, the bike that had the same impact on me as the Sprint ST did for you, or, the Sprint ST, having watched this review. I want a low mileage bike with ABS. We will see
Looked forward to this review for quite a while, and it didn't disappoint. It was a stunning looking model too. Been looking on superbike website, and it is amazing, almost any model available.
I had one and still think its one of the best bikes I've owned and I've had a few. The aftermarket pipes you have on it (ixil) sound not far off what the standard exhaust sounds like. Great all day comfort, fast and well behaved in the bends. Recommend one if you want a fast cross county road machine.
Had an ST 7 years ago and absolutely loved it and that particular bike in this video is stunning, if I still lived in the UK I'd seriously be interested in buying it. Moved to Spain 6 years ago and it was a bit pricey, transport, Spanish plates etc to bring it over and ended up buying a 1250 Bandit over here as there were no decent Sprints for sale at the time. You've got me looking through the ads again though 😍
I'm of a similar age and also passed my test in 2012 and really fancied the sprint but opted for the speed triple instead. Must say the sprint is a beauty and what a bargain, Cheers Andy.
Nothing against Triumph today except maybe the price but I for one loved the styling of their bikes in the 2000s. Sport tourers were seemingly as big as what the adventure bikes are today. I would love it if you could do a review of an Ducati ST2/3/4. They're just as attractive IMO . Love this video!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Agree with shmac96 I had a ducati ST4S with dry clutch and is was the best sport touring platform I have ever had. The Motus had similar ergo's in a more modern form. The ST did through some heat at your legs as I remember Been waiting for Triumph to come out with another sport touring bike for years. For time being will ride my BMW r1250 RS until they do
I’ve had a 2009 Sprint ST (ABS) for 9 years now. I passed my test in 2012 too after i split with my partner (same problem with bike objections) and my first big bike was a Honda VFR 800…that’s a great bike too. The sprint is everything that bike was and more. I’ve done a few longer trips from Dorset to Liverpool and back and the Sprint is an amazing machine. Chain tensioning is a doddle with the single sided swing arm, the bike is so stable that it feels like it’s running on rails, but it’s flickable, not like a shorter raked naked, but good enough for some necessary thrills 😅. It’s no GSXR but 0-100 in 5 seconds is fast enough for me😁
Nice review Andy 👍👍 Triumph got the 1050 Sprint ST soo right when Honda got the Vtec VFR so wrong ! I traded my ZZR1100D for a new 1050 Sprint ST ABS in June 2005, they came with grey wheels not white, I loved the bike, took it on track & abroad many many times including Romania for the next 6 years! A knee injury meant I swapped for a 1050 Tiger SE which I still have, as well as a 94R 1050 Speedie, just love those smooth 1050 motors 👍👍 The latest T plane crank engines are far too vibey & are horrible by comparision. I think Triumph are missing out on a big market sector by not fitting a smoother 120 degree 1200RS Speedie engine with chain drive into a 1200RS Sprint ST. Come on Triumph we don't all want to be Charley McGregorson 😜😜
That sound has just reignited the regret I have for selling my old speed triple 1050, one hell of an engine. The clock was touching 60k when I chopped it in and still ran faultlessly like it did on day 1. Think I might have to give one of these sprints a go 👍
Always had a soft spot for one of these. I sat on one at the NEC show in 2004 and it fitted my 6' 3 frame perfectly. Never did buy one but you've now got me thinking, especially as they seem a lot of bike for the dosh now. Cheers for the review Andy
I'm on my third ST now, a 2005, magnificent bikes. I;ve had Kawas and the VFR800Vteq, all great bikes but the ST is the epitome for me....and as you said, it does'nt feel like a 17 yr old machine to me. Magic bike !
Great bike I owned one for three years and did several European tours two up a brilliant sports tourer I wish Triumph made a modern equivalent. Not everyone wants endless adventure styled bikes.
I do enjoy you classic reviews, I do like these 2000 era bikes. I also decided I needed to learn to ride after a conversation on holiday with a group of German Honda Goldwing riders, learnt last year and building up to that Goldwing one day.
I owned 3 of these over the years, fantastic bike and a great example of Triumphs return to proper manufacturing. Very fun to ride, one of the bikes I regret selling.
great to finally see a proper riding review on the sprint ST. Passed in April this year and purchased a 2012 hornet. looking for a bike for next year with abit more poke but not slung over the tank on a sportsbike. been looking at the Sprint ST for a while now and now i'm sold on one! Thanks! :D
I bought a 2008 Sprint ST in 2019 as my re-entry into motorcycling. Awesome motorcycle. I rode it over many of the roads you covered in your recent adventure in Canada. (I live in central BC an hour south of Prince George.). Sold it and purchased a F850GSA so I could also enjoy the forest service roads. I don't regret getting the BMW, but I still miss the rush of the Triple and its exceptional exhaust note.
Absolutely beautiful machine Andy. I had the RS 955i Sprint model which was also a 2005. Part exchanged it for a Multistrada but sometimes wish I had just kept it. These models will appreciate in value I'm sure! I bet you wish you had some more room in the garage 😂
Thanks Andy. A spot on review. I had a 2006 and absolutely loved it. I was the same, first time I saw one, I wanted one. Only downside was it just wasn't practical enough to go touring in Europe with the missus. Panniers were a touch on the small side and even with a topbox it was a squeeze to get everything in. Missus didn't get on with pillion seat either and was always sliding forwards into me. For me personally I'd have another tomorrow. Fantastic bikes.
Have same bike, 2008 model in blue, had a it few years love it, modded seat and front, great bike, have only got 24 000 on her, just love it engine and handling just fantastic, feels light once your on the go....as said below, often tempted by newer bikes but this goes and can give the sports bikes a run for their money any day
Good to see you doing some classic bike reviews. My dad has one of these great bike. I would love to see you try mine vfr 800 Fi to see how it compares or vfr 750 cult followng.
I owed a 61 plate ST, it had the upgraded headlights that the GT was fitted with. I loved the bike. It's everything you said it is. Loved the crackling and popping from the exhaust. Better than the Gt and imo the VFR800f which I also had. Nice video Sir.
I was admiring one of these today (in red) whilst watching the final round of the Aussie super bikes at The Bend. Jack Miller was racing 😎 This example was very nicely presented and a credit to it’s owned. A bloke by names of “Colesy” I believe. Nice bikes👍
Nice, classic review! I had older brother, Sprint ST 955i from 2004. That 1050 has same awesome triple sound! I liked that older Sprint more than I expected. Very good bike, and it was dirt cheap! Those Triumph Sprints are underrated bikes IMO. This 1050 is beautiful bike. The older 955i model was not so, although I kinda liked looks of that too.
I had a 2002 model back then rode it till 2009 and I really enjoyed the power and style it was give me a ticket 🎫 with the three spoke brembo wheels. It was a very stable bike even at 150 MPH but that seat was just unbearable my prostate still remembers the dam thing was maybe 4 inches wide where my 6 foot frame sat. That's why I highly recommend anyone buying any bike try testing One More than just around the corner. I paid over 11k for it and after an hour in the saddle that narrow seat made it miserable. I Ride a 2006 tiger 955 now same beautiful engine long travel suspension better seating position and in my opinion it handle much better. Triumph definitely makes a great motorcycle very dependable and fun and there service is top notch.
I love my Tiger 1050 sport, that triple is a beaut and the simplicity of technology levels appeals too the older rider like myself, back on the scene at 60 after an 18 year lay off. I will be adding one of these to my stable next year for sure just too ring the riding changes now and then.
Fantastic review again Andy, owned one exactly same a few years ago. And agree with your comments on the st. Fantastic bike. Funnily enough that wonky mirrors was only irritating thing about the bike. But was easy fix, anyway great vid, and keep the classic reviews coming. 👌
Bikes like this are an absolute steal. Sometimes when I look at second hand options you've got to wonder why we all want new bikes when you can have one of these for under 3 grand and other great bikes for even less...
It is a great bike I owned a 2005 one myself at that time they did two different height bars bars that you could choose when you ordered it The exhaust on the one you were on is an aftermarket rear pipes the original one was a single box under the seat with three pipes sticking out with a bolt on trim to make it look nice
I just located a 2107 Sprint ST in my area for only $4799 USD (with luggage). I'm praying for a jackpot win this weekend for at least 5-grand. lol I have now abandoned the plan to eventually replace the tricked-out VTR1000F SuperHawk (Firestorm) with a 2017 VFR800F Interceptor for the sake of practicality; I now plan to eventually replace the VTR with a candy blue 2017 Sprint ST. What a motorcycle for only $5000 USD! My friend who owns a 2018 BMW GS can ride with me to the Tail of the Dragon, and we will both have plenty of storage space for extra clothes and plenty of "vittles." :)
My riding story is very similar to yours; rode in my late teens/early 20's but took a long break due to marriage, kids etc. Then one day in 2010 a co-worker of mine showed up with a new bike he'd just bought and that lit the spark for me. I did have a blue 2015 Triumph but it was a Trophy SE; lovely full-featured sport tourer but plagued with a number of recalls.
Brilliant stuff these reviews are going to be well accepted,,as nowadays the price of bikes is climbing,,most people this range of bikes are feasible,, purchase and running costs,,☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ just sold my 08 speed triple,,, bought a 1200s bandit,,go with my 06 gsxr,,,wife friendly 👍👍👍👍☺️
I had a 995i the fuel injection version before they released the 1050. I rode it all over France, through the Pyrenees, literally hours in the saddle, but the thing for me was always the triple sound. Still love that sound.
What a good review of a bike I’ve always wanted to try myself, I’ve just bought a speed triple 1050 RS but would love one of these as a 2nd bike, The looks of the ST are so much better than the GT too especially the exhausts under the seat 👌
Great review again. I did look for one for a while (I too thought it a great bike), but I still haven’t ridden one. The bike I currently have, and after 11 years ownership, I’ll keep, is a BMW R1200S, which I had no interest in until I saw one in a Triumph dealer. I’d called in to look for a Sprint ST, but as soon as I saw the R1200S and test rode it, I had to have it. The R1200S is a bit marmite, and rare as hens teeth, but if you get a chance to ride one, I’d like to see what you think. From what I’ve seen of your videos, and taste in motorbikes, my money is on you not being too keen (but that’s ok). My mum bought me a Dinky toy motorcycle when I was about 3 or 4 years old. Loved bikes ever since - had to get one as soon as I was old enough - a BSA C15.
Stunning bike, the problems I had were electrical, stator, RR, ignition switch .......but wow a cracking machine. Get the metal tank version not the plastic one.
To all the bikers Never let a woman tell u to get rid of your toys meaning your bike or your sports car. U will regret it and u won't be that happy with your girl as much. If she doesn't like your toys then she's not the right girl for you.
facts brother, if someone cannot understand your hobbies, then you need to find someone else
There truly is nothing like the exhaust note of a Triumph triple. 😀
I've had my 2011 ST for 9 years now, I'm often tempted by other newer bikes, but then I just go for a blast on the Sprint, and realise it's everything I need and more. Totally agree the looks and sounds make the triumph a bike that will never grow old. Fantastic machine.
Bought exactly this model in 2005 and absolutely loved it. I took it all round Europe and one of the best all round bikes I have ever owned. Great review Andy!
I must say that that review put me in a happy place. I've been lucky enough to ride both the ST & GT for an extended test ride. But the ST was so much fun on the twisties I thought it was more fun to ride as an everyday bike. I've turned down a couple in the past and regret it very much now.
By the way that exhaust looks like an aftermarket system from Trident which sounds epic!

Yes I think it would fly off the shelves…
Every time I have a look at the Tiger 660 I think exactly the same thing… but even at 1050 or 900 displacement the machine would be a winner if they could keep the weight at or near the class minimum

My pleasure Alex!
Geez Andy I passed my test in 1980 at age 16 on a trail bike and never really rode again until 5 years ago. It's strange where life takes us.
Isn’t it….
Keep these modern classic videos coming Andy 👍🙂 Adore that triple sound !
Couldn’t agree more with everything you said mate, the bike is amazing and really is something that should still be considered if someone is looking for a sports tourer 🤘
Great video mate, stay safe out there
Thanks for watching!
I'm in Aus. and I love my ST.
Indeed! ….and thanks for watching…
I am the proud 2nd owner of probably the lowest mileage 1999 sprint 955i ST in the country and absolutely love it!!! It's inky my second bike, and have inly been riding 18months but it is an amazing bike. Great video, as always!
Thank you - glad you like the bike!
Congrats! Mine is from 2000 (sapphire blue), am the 3rd owner, and I love the machine over and over❤
Great video👌🏻
I always love the classic bike reviews! I like the bike, sometimes I wonder why I even bother with all the "latest and greatest"
Me too!
Thanks TMF! 😊
Fabulous!
Made me chuckle hearing you passed your test in 2012…I passed mine in 1977 😱 one of my all time favorite bikes your reviewing it’s absolutely awesome..
It’s not a competition!
Thanks for the suggestion....
Thank you for the great review! I can’t wait for my black 2008 Sprint to arrive, it will be any day now. (The seller lives a few hundred km away and will deliver it to my doorstep.)
The looks of it, the sound, the power - and everything else just made me fall in love. If only the weather could be warmer soon…
Congratulations on the new bike!
Love these classic reviews, passed my test in 1973 so this sort of thing is right on the button, Keep it going Andy, Fantastic!!!
Willco! Thanks for watching…
Cheers!
Being lucky enough to be friendly with my local triumph dealer , I got to ride the demo bikes to put some miles on them and
loved them. one of the best bikes triumph ever made in my opinion !
A sport bike with bags! Good times old friend.
One of my favourite bikes. Wanted one of these for as long as I can remember but never realised. Great vid. Live the classic reviews 😊
Good to hear - cheers!
Stay tuned!
Cheers Tim - sounds a bit scary to me.....!
Sweet soundtrack. So the big question Mr F is will we see this of a different ST in your garage? I think it would be a circle of life moment and perfect homage to the bike that changed your whole life. Poetic and romantic. 🏍🏍🏍
I’d love one (and was very tempted with this one) but sadly my garage is full!!
Thanks for the vid. I have a renewed love for sport tourers after buying the Suzuki GT.
Cheers Dave!
Cracking episode Andy, love the not so classic stream on the channel. The Triumph Sprint ST is definitely a future classic.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Glad we concur Mike!
"The Small Print" (v4) has earned you my subscription :)
Cool - welcome along....
welcome back Andy, gotta love a bike that looks like its moving even when its stationary
Nice review Andy…I had this exact bike in the same color. I absolutely loved this bike and was proud to ride this bike through the USA streets. I actually had two police officers here In the U.S. pull me over………..not to give me a ticket, but they stopped me to look at the bike.
I loved mine. With the ToR exhaust, it sounded even better. I toured Europe and did track days on it, a fantastic engine. 👏
Cool!
You have a habit of uploading bike reviews of bikes that I'm considering haha. It was either going to be the Dn01 or the Sprint. Well yesterday I put the deposit down on a sprint! Thanks TheMissendenFlyer! 👍
Great choice! Enjoy.....
Just found your channel, what a great review and a great choice of bike :)
I had a '05 model that I used mainly for travelling 200+ miles each way for work (I worked away and needed to carry a weeks' worth of kit in one go) but it could also go for a blast out quite happily.
Yes a lovely bike these aren’t they - thanks for watching!
We will see
Cool - funnily enough I've just spent the last hour looking over the stock on their website - some great stuff out there..if only I had more space!
What a beautiful bike, hoping to pick up one of these in the new year! A steal for around 3 grand! Great review and makes me excited to get one soon!
Looked forward to this review for quite a while, and it didn't disappoint. It was a stunning looking model too. Been looking on superbike website, and it is amazing, almost any model available.
Yes I can spend hours looking at that website!
I had one and still think its one of the best bikes I've owned and I've had a few. The aftermarket pipes you have on it (ixil) sound not far off what the standard exhaust sounds like. Great all day comfort, fast and well behaved in the bends. Recommend one if you want a fast cross county road machine.
To me, this is one of the best looking bikes of all times. Always wanted one, havent even yet tried it...
Great review. One of the best biker channels on the tube without doubt. Keep em coming mate.
Thank you very much - that’s very kind of you to say!
You know you want one!
What a fantastic bike with arguably one of the best engines. Fab review 👍
What a great bike! This bike looks entirely modern even today, thanks so much for sharing.
My pleasure as ever Marco…
I'm of a similar age and also passed my test in 2012 and really fancied the sprint but opted for the speed triple instead. Must say the sprint is a beauty and what a bargain, Cheers Andy.
Thanks for watching again Dave - always good to have you along!
I enjoy your classic reviews. Proves you don't necessarily have to spend a lot of money to enjoy yourself a nice motorcycle. Cheers!
So true - thanks for watching….
Great bike, great channel and great weather, what more could we ask for.
Thank you for watching!
For time being will ride my BMW r1250 RS until they do
Friend of mine bought a red one of these maybe In 2011 it was £10k second hand back then.
Beautiful bike Andy. The simplicity is what makes it special I reckon. Cheers
It’s no GSXR but 0-100 in 5 seconds is fast enough for me😁
Cool!
Wouldn’t that be good!
My pleasure!
I'm on my third ST now, a 2005, magnificent bikes. I;ve had Kawas and the VFR800Vteq, all great bikes but the ST is the epitome for me....and as you said, it does'nt feel like a 17 yr old machine to me. Magic bike !
Glad we concur!
You can do a lot worse than the mighty wing!
Need to get over my habit of collecting Royal Enfield first😊
I can understand that habit too!
Thanks! :D
Good choice!
Yes they sound great don’t they…..
Absolutely beautiful machine Andy. I had the RS 955i Sprint model which was also a 2005. Part exchanged it for a Multistrada but sometimes wish I had just kept it. These models will appreciate in value I'm sure! I bet you wish you had some more room in the garage 😂
I sure do!
DUFF HEADLIGHTS -
MCN rider reviews suggest that its possible to fit the later reflectors to the
early bikes. Well worth doing.
Thanks for sharing Kevin!
I do have a VFR 800 review on here if you have a search in my "readers rides" playlist....
I owed a 61 plate ST, it had the upgraded headlights that the GT was fitted with. I loved the bike. It's everything you said it is. Loved the crackling and popping from the exhaust. Better than the Gt and imo the VFR800f which I also had. Nice video Sir.
Love this bike and the sound of that triple popping and crackling, just love it!
I was admiring one of these today (in red) whilst watching the final round of the Aussie super bikes at The Bend.
Jack Miller was racing 😎
This example was very nicely presented and a credit to it’s owned.
The Sprint ST 1050 is my own bike, absolutely brilliant to ride. I've had mine for 8 years now.
Will do Johnny - thanks for watching....
Bikes like this are an absolute steal. Sometimes when I look at second hand options you've got to wonder why we all want new bikes when you can have one of these for under 3 grand and other great bikes for even less...
Agreed 100%
It is a great bike I owned a 2005 one myself at that time they did two different height bars bars that you could choose when you ordered it
The exhaust on the one you were on is an aftermarket rear pipes the original one was a single box under the seat with three pipes sticking out with a bolt on trim to make it look nice
I have a 2006 in sunset red. Tuned it so it burbles and pops when you shut off the gas. Outside of the squishy forks I love it. Nice choice!
I had an 05 Sprint ST for 4 years…it was a great bike. Had a 2bro’s exhaust that sounded really good
I just located a 2107 Sprint ST in my area for only $4799 USD (with luggage).
Great review, thanks. Had to replace the stator in Germany while on a tour ! Runs and sounds great. A lot of bike for the price.
Cool! Happy wife etc..
@@TheMissendenFlyer she wasn't to happy as she liked the speed triple,,🤔🤔
I had a 995i the fuel injection version before they released the 1050. I rode it all over France, through the Pyrenees, literally hours in the saddle, but the thing for me was always the triple sound. Still love that sound.
What a good review of a bike I’ve always wanted to try myself, I’ve just bought a speed triple 1050 RS but would love one of these as a 2nd bike, The looks of the ST are so much better than the GT too especially the exhausts under the seat 👌
I agree....
Brilliant….
Stunning bike, the problems I had were electrical, stator, RR, ignition switch .......but wow a cracking machine. Get the metal tank version not the plastic one.
