sorry, for some reason over the years I missed comments on this one and just got that other one the other day. Trans is a custom geared Mendeola S5 with a custom R&P. Had my share of trouble with that trans but nonetheless was geared for 1500rpm drops from peak HP to peak torque. Engine is a simple 10:1 destroked 400 using a 327 crank and solid tappet cam, 525HP/438TQ. As for the wheel, the upper section had cracked between the spokes and wasn't stable so I had to flip it upside down. Sold the car as a roller in 2013, put the engine and transaxle in a 66 Nova which is still an on-going project (moved 4 times since then across 2 states so it kills the progress). Recently started a Pantera project just to make sure nothing gets done ;)

Looks like your steering wheel is mounted upside down.
Nice 914!! What V8 are you using?
This sounds like a very high revving 7-8k rpm engine so definitely not a 350. Maybe in another 9 years the poster will let us know.
Who cares about the damn steering wheel....:) Cool Car!
I´M sure. 5 Sec. faster!!! with this car.
