20:45 - There are so many scenes with CG (Not sure what the anchor is talking about) and they are also not very convincing. I am afraid if that's going to take away the movie watching experience.. The ships scenes, cities, war sequences (blocks and blocks of soilders). I wish they did not do that.. but I have faith in mani ratham in making up for them with other scenes.

In the novel, Arulmozhi Varman meets Vanthiyathevan for the first time in Eelam and Athiththa Karikalan won't travel south to Kadambur or Veeranarayana lake. Vanthiyathevan wouldn't even know who is Arulmozhi Varman until that point in time and would be surprised by his sudden attack. That fight scene seems to be there in the film. You can't change the scenarios for the sake of it. If this change happened to be there, then the screen play would be mostly different to the book. That would be clearly a Nani's PS, not Kalki's. If it is just for the movie promotion, that would have been okay though.
It is not in the novel. These 3 do not meet at all. It's in the film for promotion and i guess may be in the movie it may come as someone's dream sequence like Kundavai's. If so it could do justice to that shot. but still I don't mind some changes to give cinematic experience..

But regarding changes, I think almost half of the fifth part is not going to be there in the film. PS II climax will most likely be somebody crowned as the next King. But the story goes on even after that with very interesting sub-plots. But those scenes cannot be added in the film if 2 out of 3 (Manimehalai, Pinagapani and Karuthiruman) important characters not be there. Vanthiyathevan would escape with Karuthiruman, but ended up saving one important char's life and that important char will have a big role in the climax. The change would take place in the palace with the flow. I wonder how could Mr. Manirathnam fix it if these 3 chars are not in the film. As I don't want to give any spoilers, I do not say the actual scenes openly.
