Loving your vids of this and reliving memories of a failed attempt in 2018 and successful trip in 2020. What time of the year did you walk this to get so many days of hear and clear conditions? I felt for you in the last section when you were hot and thirsty on the way to High Moor, knowing that it was the least shaded camp-site and the one place that there's no lake in which to swim
We started our on January 24th 2018. Thank you for your kind words, my body temp does run quite hot so I feel the heat so the hot days were pretty tough. Yes definately would of loved a cold lake swim at High Moor. The views from the rock at camp once I recovered made up for it. We know even though we had to suffer through a heat wave we were so very lucky with the incredibly clear days with amazing views. How far did you get in 2018? Did the weather mean you had to turn back?
@@cmoreoz1 in 2018 we got wet and cold in bad weather on the on way to Lake Cygnus. It was a white out and we could barely see the track. We thought we'd missed the Cygnus turn off and might have been lost. Hypothermia was on the way so we put up tent on the side of the track and got in to get dry and warm. Slept a couple of hours. Woke up to find that the cloud had moved, the wind had dropped and that we were 200m away from the turnoff down to Lake Cygnus! Went down to camp and had a great night. Others though at camp were turning back the next day having heard the forecast of storms coming through so we thought it wise to turn back too. Glad we did.
