    love my 250sx! it's only a matter of a few years until we see more two stroke 250s. My guess is the next new 250 2 smoker will be green...then we see a couple MX pros...then they sell even more...and on and on. Thanks to KTM for keeping two stroke development going!

    It's funny he says this bike has TONS of over rev when the Dyno shows it signing off pretty quickly after peak which is below 9 grand if I'm not mistaken. The Yamaha 250 doesn't make as much power anywhere on the front side of the curve before peak as the KTM, but makes much more power from 9 grand up even after peaking. THAT is over rev. The Yamaha motor may not make as much peak power and therefore not as fast as the KTM in the hands of a skilled rider, but it's broad power range with adequate over rev can keep it competitive because the shift points don't have to be so spot on. It allows more freedom because riders can stay in one gear and just stretch it out on certain straights vs having to shift up for a second only to have to shift back down entering the corner.

      What Dyno?

    • @mitchellkalina8191
      @mitchellkalina8191 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brandonnewman1018 on any Dyno, it's irrelevant. Yes all dyno's will have variance and even the same dyno may show different numbers for the same machine in the same day based off temp and barometric pressure, but it's not going to vary much in the way of rpm. For instance a KTM on X dyno signs off quickly after peak, if you take the same bike to dyno Y it's not going to magically make tons of over rev after peak. Sure the numbers may be different between X and Y, but the curves will still be largely the same. The KTM motor has been relatively unchanged since 17 when it began it's current iteration. The Yamaha 250 makes more power from peak until sign off than the KTM, regardless of what dyno.

    I have a 2002 ktm 125 with a some engine upgrades which now makes it a 200sx. I had SGB racing do my suspension and it RIPS. I love KTM because of how light they are. Yamaha has the best suspension stock.
