Padley Gorge is great, I've only been a couple of times, hope to get back there over the winter. There's a disused quarry just near there that's meant to be really cool - have you ever been? I can't remember the name of it off hand but I could look it up. I think you park at Surprise View and walk over the moor a bit to get there.
Those mill stones are ancient. In the old times these were made by Royal approval. The problem with these stones was that they darkened the flour. The French stones kept the flour white and in time replaced these. They are the symbolic of the Peak District and you can find them all over the place in Goyt Valley. Not been to Pdley for a few years since I damaged my knee trying a climb a steep bank with a full load of camera stuff. Have to get the courage to get back. I have a M Type 240 and the Leica colours even without any post are amazing. Nice photography BTW. PS: I am sure you do know that Leica M8 has a very IR leaky sensor so without an external IR block filter you can get some strange colours. For B&W it’s perfect also for IR photography with 720 nm filter.
Thanks for the comparison between the two cameras, I have both myself and this is the first woodland photos I have seen with the M8. I was a little surprised that you chose to shoot with 35mm lens on the M8 but it seems to work alright. I have been using the 21mm lens with my M8 it seems to be the most comfortable for me. I have tried the 28mm and 35mm but they didn’t work as well for me. Thanks again.
Yep I understand with respect to the 35mm. Really though I'm a 50mm shooter on the M6, and the 80mm on the hasselblad is about 50mm equivalent, so 35mm on the M8 crop sensor seems just perfect for my 50mm style. But I have used the 50 'lux on the M8 for portraits and I'm blown away by the results.
@@Stringbob Thanks for the reply. I remember trying the M8 with a 35mm and it felt like everything was right up in my face. Almost like shooting a kids birthday party indoors with a M6 and a 50mm. Just not enough room to back up to capture the full story. Thanks again, and keep sharing. I enjoy your channel.
Really enjoyed that episode! I’m so excited about shooting my newly purchased Hasselblad 500cm which I’ve yet to clean etc which I’m also looking forward too… Keep on shooting on ! Really inspiring thanks again Tommy. Any tips regarding the Hasselblad I’ll be more than open too 👍.
nice photos like the shots from both cameras.
Thank you very much!

Glad you enjoyed the video
Nice shoot nice day for Hasselblad eheheh...
I like the rendering of the Hassy more. The colors from the Kodak Elgar 100 is beautiful.
Yep I have to agree, it is difficult to beat Ektar, even with other film stocks, never mind digital.
What camera did you use to film the video ...excellent photography , video..
Glad you liked…I use a DJI Pocket 3…great piece of kit.
