@therealKINDLE You are indeed confusing peak and RMS levels. The K-Scales that I demonstrate in this video allow peak levels to reach full scale or just below (to provide the dynamics) while keeping RMS levels down at around 20/14/12 dBFS (depending on the scale selected) to avoid participating in the loudness wars. If you follow the advice in this tutorial using the K14 scale your mixes will have much the same dynamic range as the figures you quote in your first comment. :)
I hear that L-R out of phase pumping on a lot of amateur mixes. Creates ear fatigue fast. Thanks for discussing it in this video. Well done. Btw, these plugins are not too expensive. That's ridiculous. Features, price and interface are a 10. Their sound, that's up to the user. I like them.

Hi. I love the Plugins that you guys make. The only thing stopping me getting them is the price. Maybe you could release some simpler, cheaper versions of these plugins, that do the same thing, with the same general looks, but with less of the extra gizmos, bells and whistles. For example your gate has an expert mode. All I really look for is the graphic, threshold knob, ratio knob and range knob. This would really help making your incredible software more affordable to us poor people. Hehe.
tNice tutorialngs going as tracks can be anytNice tutorialng and everytNice tutorialng and anywhere. I would like to ask you a question please? The reason that I
These are relatively cheap plug-ins. Go look at the UAD stuff or Waves stuff. Now those are expensive plug ins. I have almost all of the fabfilter stuff and they get used on every mix I do. They are worth every penny, you wouldn't want a dumbed down version of this stuff. Also, even if you don't purchase a bundle, after you purchase one plug in you get a discount on every other one you buy after that. I ended up getting Pro L for $133.00, its originally $219 and I didn't purchase any bundle.
hes just explaining that when music is converted into mp3 or a consumer format its level will be higher than its orginal so he just saying to put the level down by -0.1 db. db or decibels is a measurement of volume.
@therealKINDLE Why should I be ashamed of myself? I just stated a fact. It's clear that you don't know the difference between peaking and RMS peaking. This sounds like you just read your first article about the loudness war and you think you know everything about it. Setting the output of the limiter to -0,1 or -0,3 is an industry standard and has nothing to do with the loudness war. RMS peaking has to do with loudness war. Those numbers you wrote look like momentary RMS peaks.
6:07 that timing, what on earth... his videos are that well thought out.
Thank you, Fabfilter, for all your incredible, elegant products.
I'm learning so much from you dave... your tutorials are the best ever made, no exaggeration! Thank you!
