Brutus seems like a guy that’s fun to party with, but you can tell his stories are far fetched. I am still salty about the fact that Beefcake never got to win the IC title from Honky Tonk Man, but Warrior being the one to do it worked out really good too.

    • @luciano-km7mq
      @luciano-km7mq ปีที่แล้ว +2

He was seriously injured that required surgery on his face. But Vince should made another effort to put the belt on him. In fact, Jake the snake was suppose to win the belt also. Unfortunately, he was frequently in rehab. Honky Tonk man was never suppose to hold the belt that long. It just turned out that way because Jake couldn't stay sober and beefcake's horrific beach accident. I still believe Vince should've called beefcake in as a surprise guess to cut his hair in the "battle of the billionaires" between Bobby Lashley and Umaga.

Both men have been known to lie... for different reasons... Brutus is deadset on putting himself and Hogan over at any cost - deflecting criticism and making up grandiose and unbelievable tall tales (minus Hogan's natural charisma and gift of gab). Cornette is deadset on protecting anyone who made him money/likes personally/is a direct blood relative of the latter two and degrading anyone he ever had an argument with/feels makes a foil for his online character.
Yet, if Corny is neutral on the people involved, he can be a reliable historian with an excessively long memory and vast knowledge of wrestling's past (with the obligatory embellishments here and there for the sake of making a better story) . And Brutus? Well... Brutus can't counted on to remember what he had for dinner last night save for the blow he had for dessert.

I’ve heard Cornette say “if he was a walking through a men’s locker room then he’ll be whistling Stranger In Paradise” (a Tony Bennett song) and have never got the reference. So I’ve looked through Apple Music seen it’s a Tony Bennett song so no wonder I never knew as I was born in 1981 and have heard of Tony Bennett he would be someone who my grandparents would’ve listened to, not even my parents (who are 74 & 71) listened to Tony Bennett as he’s before their time too! Anyway I’ve listened to the song (Apple Music puts up the words on my iPhone 15) and I can start to understand the reference more now knowing the words, whereas before I was like “I’ve heard Cornette say it so many times but I don’t know what he means”. But now I know and you have to listen to the song to get it.

2:42:13 did the surgeons need 100ft of titanium wire (a 100ft does sound excessive) because Brutus the “WHITE HOT” Barber Beefcake’s head is so big? Because according to him it went Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Brutus then Macho Man Randy Savage is in the list of most over wrestlers in the WWF (probably the world too in his mind). Yeah the doctors were right when they said Brutus has memory loss and brain damage (perfect person to pick to recall for a Timeline around 30yrs ago)

    Good grief, mate!
Corny is good as always, but Edward H. Leslie is like your drunk uncle at the family barbecue, blathering endlessly about his jungle adventures in the special forces, even though all he ever did was guard a warehouse filled with cement bags.

according to sean, buff bagwell was the most messed up they ever shot (1997 wcw timeline, so far gone they scrapped it, brought in nash later to do it), beefcake was the most messed up of anyone they were able to get something out of (sounds like as bad as beefcake looks here, he was in much worse shape condition about an hour before they started. wrap your head around that bit for a second).

@@mfm4205 yeah, the Bagwell shoot is legendary. He ripped Sean off pretty bad, then later once he got clean he big timed him, saying he had his own podcast and also someone else was doing a documentary on him at the time, I think. So he denied Sean even though he owed Sean not only money but time and production costs for the useless garbage shoot he did that was so bad they couldn't even use it! What a carny asshole.

What’s funny about the contract negotiations around 2hr mark. If Jim would’ve just said take the 50 grand you are giving me “I didn’t ask for” and give 25k to each of them, reducing my pay down to 100. They probably would’ve gotten their 150k a piece lol.
So loyalty to a point would be more correct. Jim wasn’t going to give up 50 grand a year to give to his pals.

Wrestling can be compared to so many other things, acting is probably the best example.
It’s the ability to get the public to believe and to care about the outcome of the character.
Doing a string of moves is irrelevant, it doesn’t evoke a reaction and a sense of care to the hero.
That’s why meltzer and Brett can say all the nonsense they want but they’ll never understand, how can anyone actually grade a match?
To do so especially when you don’t understand what pro wrestling really is is beyond stupid.
It’s the equivalent of going to the circus but only liking the acrobats, then scoring the lion tamer based on his acrobatic ability….. it makes no sense….
Watch him on Donaghue and you will see clearly the permed up Dave doing his best Dustin Hoffman rainman impression but that’s who he is…
Made a living off killing kayfabe and storylines…. To even mention a name that is copyrighted owned makes me wonder how he’s been able to use their names and likeness to make his fortune… terrible abuse of this industry

Ross is definitely overrated by some of his peers and the Attitude kids. Solie, Thatcher, Caudle were all better play by plays, i'd even say that Schiavone in the 80's was better than him. What is most annoying about Ross is that he never shuts up about american handegg. Get one wrestler in the ring who previously played that rugby for pussies crap and Ross won't shut up about it, making it the focal point of his commentary.
He is also incredibly dumb and uneducated, something that became blatantly obvious when he was paired with Jesse Ventura (greatest colour commentator ever)
The ratings comment though, that's nonsense. Commentators have no impact on ratings or otherwise the WWF would've been falling apart when 6 Time Worst Announcer of the Year (and rightfully so) Gorilla Monsoon was on the air.
