    I am running exactly the same setup as you, but i have #1 spring pads on front, now going to add more clearance, so will switch to #2 pads will add 4mm’s. IMHO you car stands a little higher on front ;) Like your Content :)

    Great video, very informative. I have the H&R springs, but I chose the Koni shocks and I'm happy with them. Also, I have the H&R sway bars and that really makes a big difference on body roll.

    Very good info and informative. Running #1 pads all around and need to update my rake look. Have a set of Koni's that's been sitting that needs to be installed once I find time but looking forward to switching it since I'm looking for something a little more firm and make it a level surface look all around.
    Thanks bro! Hope to see you for the Toys4tots event. 👍

    Which variation of the h&r springs are you using? I see that the model number is 29724 but is it 29724-1 or 29724-2 or -3 or is it -4?

    You keep referring to “stock”…… but what is stock given that you have a e430 with e55 look….. which stock e55 or e430?

    Same here. For my MKIV Jetta, I ran Bilstein coilvers. It was cool that I was able to dial in the ride height and all and get that super slammed look, but for me, it was just too harsh of a ride. You could feel every little bump on the road and it was a CV-joint-bearing-overhaul job just waiting to happen because the car had so little suspension travel. So now for my Audi A4, I went with H&R Sport Springs and am liking it better. Yes a tad bit firmer than stock, but much more forgiving and I was still able to achieve a one-finger tire-fender gap so it still has a good lowered look. Thats a nice clean Merc btw.

    Found your channel and loving the videos. I have a 1999 E55 myself that is my daily for years now. I am thinking of doing a shock/spring upgrade similar to yours (I want the euro style height, tired of the riding high look). Right now I am thinking of going with the Koni yellow adjustables set on full soft and H&R springs. I see it sold as the Koni chassis kit. Do you think I could copy your pad combination front/rear for this setup? Very interesting on the front and rear arches being slightly uneven but good to know. Or, would simply trying to get a set of euro springs be a simpler idea? Also, what are the stock spring pads on the w210 E55's? Is it all the same from the factory or did they change it up over the years. Would love to make a donation if you could please answer my question. Cheers from Northern California.

    • @SoCal210
      @SoCal210  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you could replicate the height of my car if you get the same springs and use the same spring pads. If you can find Euro springs that’s a very good option too. It was just easier for me to get the H&R. From what I’ve seen if you cut the USA springs by 1 coil all around it’s pretty close to Euro height as well and has little to no effect on ride quality. Stock spring pads on USA E55s were 3 pads all around. Hope this helps!

    Your tires pilot sport 4s are summer tires. Why didn’t you go
    With pilot sport 4 all seasons?? Daily driver tires all year round

    • @SoCal210
      @SoCal210  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Because it climates like Southern California where it’s always above 45F and rains light the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are better than the all seasons. The 4S perform better than the all seasons in light. The only benefit of the all season over the 4S in Southern California is a higher tread wear rating. The 4S are daily driver tires all year round here. Why not have the best grip all year round if weather permits?

      @@SoCal210 awesome socal does stay above 45f. I agree the 4s is better that a/s. I’m in market for tires switching from pirelli pzero to mich pilot. Imma go with 4s and I do have lorinzer lowering springs on 210- replacing my stock shocks to b8 bilsteins as well. My 210 744 on monos et31 &e35 is my daily everyday. I just don’t want to go through tires on the daily.

    • @SoCal210
      @SoCal210  ปีที่แล้ว

      You may want to consider the all seasons then. The 4S will wear much faster. The all seasons have nearly doubled the tread wear rating.

      @@SoCal210 ... Agreed to the power of 10. .. Here in the Colorado Mts. the summer temps is short-lived with AM temps easily under 30f in July & August. .. you'd think the Michelin A/S 4 would be the go to Pilot Sport. .. Nope. .. The Pilot Sport (summer) 4S in our MY23 Merc E450 wagon (F. 245/40/19 & R. 275/35/19) are the bomb. .. Come late September is M/S tires until May of the nest year ... Are you able to run H&R lowering springs with stock avantgarde shocks?? I like the softest ride possible so I was wondering if I can still get the same ride height as you (number 3 up front and 1 in the back)? Appreciate the help!

    Hey SoCal , Did your hr springs and b8s take time to settle ? Just did the same upgrade on my w210 E55 and my front end has not dropped from factory. Is this normal ? Thanks

    • @SoCal210
      @SoCal210  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah my H&r took a couple months to settle. I don’t drive my car a lot so that’s probably why. If you daily your car it should settle within a month. I also noticed that the shocks felt different after driving it some miles. I would say within 1 month or 500-1000 miles of driving everything should be settled. After the springs settled I think they came down an inch.
