Same.. after Artie left, the HSS became completely unlistenable.. I think a lot of ppl switched over to O&A around that general timeframe which is actually pretty interesting.. I think right around 2009-2011 O&A was at the peak of their powers.
I could never get into Howard. I had gotten into O & A first, so Howard could never really compete in my book. I like Artie well enough, but that was about it.
I love Stern too, always was into both shows, but Stern did get rough later, especially now. He's completely unlistenable these days. I never was a huge Artie fan but he had his moments. I liked Artie when he just made funny comments but I couldn't stand most of his stories because he was such a horrible liar. I love Sal the Stockbroker on Stern, I love whenever Howard was teasing Eric the Midget, lots of great moments on Stern pre Artie, the Jackie the Jokeman era is probably my favorite.

I didnt have satellite radio but a channel would upload the days episode around 5pm and i would be in the library downloading it to my phone and listen to the entire 3 hours on my way home and before bed. I signed up for a free trial the friday Anthony got fired. This was damn near 10 years ago but its still an amazing show
Oh my god, Lady Di went to rehab near my house. Marlboro, NJ. It was an old psychotic hospital. She was right, it’s in the middle of nowhere and deep in the woods. Can only imagine her wondering around the woods, going through DT’s after escaping.

Opie displayed his main quality he brought to the show. And that’s his incessant need to argue and bitch allowed things like this to continue. Jim and Sam would 100% stop the bit after the phone call. Probably Anthony too. Despite how hilarious this week was
Not to mention Anthony seemed like he had the cold barley flu for a lot of these shows. Opie did keep the energy up, sometimes.
