JB4 Map 2 - DYNO TESTED - Not what I was expecting!?! // MKV Toyota GR Supra

  • We DYNO TEST the Burger Tuning JB4 Map 2 (OTS ECU tune) on our otherwise stock 2023 Toyota GR Supra project car to find out exactly how much horsepower and torque YOU may expect to gain from this easy to install performance modification! Our GR Supra produced 4 dyno pulls on the DYNOJET dyno that we then used to compare to our newly establish Supra's baseline power figures. Does the Burger Tuning JB4 piggy-back ECU OTS map produce the power as advertised? Next up, we're going to DYNO test our new JB4 custom ECU tune from Jesse DaBears of 1FastSupra - can you gain a sizable power difference between the JB4 OTS Maps (Map 2) vs. a custom ECU tune? All this, before we start adding our performance modifications to our Supra project car, such as an aftermarket performance catback exhaust, downpipe, air intake, ethanol, Femto ECU unlock, BM3, MHD, or Ecutek tune, etc. - find out which Supra performance mods is right for your MKV Supra project car!
    *SUBSCRIBE TODAY...*We'll be reviewing GR Supra modifications, walking through how-tos, mod installs, taking the car to the dyno to test horsepower and torque, testing the Toyota Supra's 0-60mph and 1/4 mile acceleration, and finding out if the most popular Supra car modifications such as an air intake, exhaust, downpipe, ecu tune (ECUTEK, MHD, BM3, JB4), etc. really does add the horsepower car performance part manufacturers claim!?! We'll be using our 2023 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium project car as our test Supra to test all of our Supra modifications.

      @@TheLemonFactorI think there is something happening to that correction factors...or maybe the gasoline...or you should data log your car to see what boost pressure it is running in real time.

    The JB4 (or any tune) on the Supra really needs a downpipe to get any meaningful gains. Would highly recommend you do that before getting a Jesse tune.

    I've been tuning for the past 20yrs and I've never quite understood why people think they can just throw a box tune on their vehicle and I think it's going to improve.... it never does it never will (good way to hurt it). You need good fuel the appropriate amount of timing the correct cam timing and as much boost as you can throw at it. Since two engine are never identical..Even if they're the same engine means every engine is going to want something different and that's why box tunes will never work. The stock ecu has had time to get the afr right where it wants it... then you threw a huge change at it. did the ecu have time to get the afr where it wants it? Did you use the same fuel? Was it the same humidity and temperature outside? Is the stock ECU now fighting the piggyback because it's on the Ragged edge of being outside of a perimeter? Or the stock ECU is commanding one thing but getting something completely different.

    This is why I never advocate for a jbr4 system. Guys try em all the time and usually get a loss or inconsistent power. Sometimes it can work right but at the cost of piggybacking - just not worth it. Lots of guys tried it on other platforms and same results. Another reason I never used it on my supra. I'd rather do some hardware changes and do a slow ecu relearn process. Not the same as a tune but at least it's not being forced down like a ibr. Nah man. Get rid of that thing and focus on some hardware mods, like a downpipe or the intake.

Countless Supra owners are using the JB4 without issue for years. Custom tune or not. I've had mine for about 2 years. About 6 months on OTS map, and then I got a Jesse tune. • @brycekiller1
      @brycekiller1 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @joshuadqueen
      @joshuadqueen ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@brycekiller1 yup. These "unlocking" is easier ppl trigger me a little, lol. It's not normal to have to pay that much for a tune. Then you risk a fee every time you hit the dealer if they manage to lock it again. When it's a conventional tune, count me in. Until then, stock was fine, JB4 is just better, haha, and cheaper, and permanent if I want.
