Have you compared your mulching blade to the Oregon mulching blade? I was just curious how they measured up. I know the Oregon mulching blade is excellent.
I haven’t compared them before, but I sure would love to come pare them and see what the differences are. I used one brand before where the metal was just so sloppy it was bending and didn’t even cut through anything. But I think Oregon’s alloy is a lot thicker and that’s why it has the higher cost.
Well, this one was for a friend😅 I’m really hoping to get out to the beaver area tomorrow. I know they rebuilt everything, probably even better since I haven’t had time to get out there. We’ve been having lots of rain so their resources have increased.
WOW, what a monumental project you decided to do. You would have probably come out better renting a mulching machine to clear that plot. Thumbs Up for your efforts...
Thanks Gary! Renting a belt driven brush cutter is a little pricey and I can’t justify purchasing one either. Most areas I do are also really only accessible with the hand held brush cutters. I’m not sure a push one would do much good for uneven ground and such high brush.
Yes! This is a Stihl FS 240, I got it last year but I only started using it this year. I would love to get a bigger one, like a 560 or 460, but this 240 is really great right now. I’m using a mulching knife in the video, it was a little dull but it still works absolutely great!
@@metalkarmak I’d love to just get a 460/560 for everything. But there’s none I can find. The 240 is only really good for blackberries. I couldn’t imagine what a 560 would be like.
@@golovinpropertyservices you are a big man. 560 wouldnt cramp u much.. as for me just a little over 5 ft , to use 560 to run on grass 3 4 hrs will kill me .. haha
The FS-240 is a genuine 2 stroke and it has more power. If I’m not mistaken the 131 has like 1.6hp and the 240 has like 2.4hp(might need to double check). But even the difference of power is very noticeable and the 240’s high RPM’s allow it to cut through thick grass and brush easier.
Sweet child of mine, holy mother of all things 🤪 CRAZY.... why oh why don't home owners address this with straight VINEGAR early in the growing season..... dose the area full strength 3x weekly for a month..... then burn off dead brambles..... gosh I do not like wild brambles at all..... my goats 🐐 now turn their noses away from them while on forage trips into the woods
It was definitely a crazy one😅 the previous owners let the property run wild and while that was happening the blackberries snuck in and started taking over.
Well, it’s to clear out the land. For this property the owner is planning on building a house and they need the buildable area of land cleared out so they can see what they’re working with. Also cutting the blackberries right now keeps them from over growing even more :)
@@golovinpropertyservices me too. I never like music on any videos. The sound of the equipment is music to my ears. 😀. Question: what is on the other side of the fence? Is it the same property or a neighbor’s?
@@brotoubrotou3164 Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate hearing what is better and what isn't. On the other side of the fence is a section of the property thats next to the road. The property owner plans on clearing it in the future, but they need to clean out the lot first.
This is ambition and strength. I love your yard work.
Thank you Deborah!
Wow!!!! This is huge!!!! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
It sure was!
Great to see you again, Dave. Your videos are always interesting to see. Cheers Dave, and have a great weekend!
Thank you Martin! It’s always great to see your comments! Have a great week!
What a huge job. Can't stop watching to see end result!!
It sure was! Clearing blackberries is probably the most satisfying job out there.
you're a one man machine , incredible effort
Thank you!😁
Amazing job!
Thank you Irma!
Wow! 😮 That’s a lot of work well done and just a little bit more to go….
👏👏👏
Thank you Karen!
Wonderful Job looks GREAT.
Thanks Dassa!
Nicely done with the music and the brush cutter together.
Thanks Max!
Crazy how much those mulcher blades have went up. I'm glad I picked up a bunch when they were still cheap. Great vid and great work as always.
Prices are bouncing around for everything, its rough but the work has to continue. Thanks Edward!
Good morning David. What a job ! Those blackberry bushes were huge. You've made a real difference there, great job, best regards.
Good morning, Dawn! They sure were! Thank you and have a great day!
Very nice JOB!!!
Thanks Bill!!
Wow well done, that was hard work ,I was worn out just watching you,
It’s hard, but it sure is fun and satisfying!
Wow, impressive; thanks for the tip how you get the job done--Wished I would have know about it years ago, not I can pass the tip on to others.
Thanks for watching Leni!
Oohhh i love the blackberry videos
I love them as well! There will probably be several more coming soon as well :)
What a lot of mulch made ,bramble kills out every thing else so ground clear except their roots to dig or weeken with further cuts, warm work by you.
Thanks James! The brambles will grow 3-4 times and if they are cut properly the entire plant should just die all together.
nice work!
Thank you Rafael!
WOW wadda mess! good job bro
Thanks!
THE LONE WOLF 🐺 🐺 with excellent job
Thank you! 😁👍
Good heavens! Have the owners NEVER cut these bushes before? I've not seen a fence that covered except on abandoned properties!
Parts of the area were cleared before, the new owner who got the property decided to take some much needed action😅

Wow, that is a lot of work. I sure hope you are getting paid for this one. BTW - the beavers sent me a note. They miss you 😉

Missing your beaver dam vids
I’ll try to get some more out here soon!
Awsome. What a mess you started with.Does it need spraying?
It could use spraying, but thats always up to the property owner.
Good work 🍻
Thank you! 😁👍
You really need a ride on brush cutter for a job like this. But I guess it's all good training for taking on the beavers again.
I’d get one, but since I get only a few of these jobs occasionally it’s not worth getting one. The Stihl does an amazing job!
Did you collect up all the mulched stuff after?
wow.. new machine there my friend?
get a mulching knife Dave.

Hello David you super mulcher, what Muzic is this i really like it. Great job , what a difference. M.
Thank you Mike! One of the pieces is called "Called to Win". Thank you!
What would you say is the difference between fs 240 and something like the fs 131? They both seem to have the same design, just one of them is cheaper
The 131 is lighter and has a 4 stroke engine. The 240 is heavier and has a 2 stroke engine. 2 stroke is better for feathering the throttle imo
