From all the undertale content I’ve watched most people interpret them as girls and the player can decide their gender in the game so I guess this is the same, plus this isn’t a regular undertale timeline, since they are still on the surface
So what is frisk wearing if not shorts? Never mind they wear long pants, however it is possible to change clothes, I’ve seen people that put them in skirts before, which actually looks good, it is up to the player to give them a gender.
