agreed, I wish I had do this in the other direction, get the crux out of the way in full daylight and going up it also the steep rock slab later on woul have been better going down.
Man! I encountered the exactly same situation as you! Can't find the way in primitive trail just after the sunset, that terrifies me and my wife very much!!
I was scared shitless at the moment mostly because the though of scorpions or whatever creepy crawlies are out there but looking back its a good memory haha
There are very weak signals of my phone, LTE, which helped me using Google map find the correct way. Next time bring a whistle might be very helpful.@@IdRatherBeHiking
Cheers friend. Be sure to check out my other arches videos. I have one on Delicate arch as well as another video on Corona, bowtie and pinto arch! They are all amazing to see.
We took the trail counterclockwise also. I would hate to go DOWN the crux. Going around the round boulder on the fin (26:00) was terrifying in the day!! I went around to the left. My husband went right. There were NO finger holds, a 12 inch ledge for my feet (at the most) and an 30+ drop behind. I was holding on with my arms relying on friction, moving only one body part at a time and telling myself to keep calm. Looking at it again, I think going right was much better. I can't imagine doing either way in the dark!! 😳 I'm shocked that more people aren't killed on that trail and wonder why the park service doesn't install some handles or chains. There were hundreds of people on the trail and at least 50 doing the whole trail the day we were there in Oct 24.
@@amyrobinson3119 Most of the subscribers on my other channel aren't in the algorithm. TH-cam only shows my videos to maybe 10k people and of that 2-3k will watch but only if they are rare fruit videos. I'm working on moving over those people to my Earth Monkey gardening channel and doing something else with earth titan. I'm going to upload a few silent hiking nature videos on there or maybe just take my hiking videos on here and put them on there and see if they do better.
What a terrific video!!Some parts had me scared for your safety. Very well done!
Many thanks for sharing all your lovely adventures..good or bad..stay safe stay you..much love..one love..respect.
There are two schools of thought on the direction of the trail. We've always done clockwise. Yes the Crux is scary going down but not too bad.

I got lost today. So glad I made it out before sunset.
scary back there! For me because I dont know what critters come out at night... made it worse

Great video! Thank you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I was on the edge of my seat at the end. I have done that trail also and some of the fins are scary in the day light!
Wild terrain back there! Nothing like back home here on Vancouver Island
Sweet Jesus be careful 😮
Here cuz of the Trudeau vids, but stayed to watch cuz Wife and I loved doing Arches and a lot of other Parks in Utah
