Mamaw and Papaw (along with their first name) is what my kids called their grandparents, they had three sets. my sister chose to be called GiGi. The best one I can share is my best friends grandchild called her kitten when he first started talking then shifted to Wacka. She had thought she would just go with the traditional grandma but B had something else in mind. No matter the term that is used it all means cherished in the end. I'm not going to Reinbeck but I still knit a sweater in spirt. I'm looking toward doing something with a bit of colorwork in the yoke.
Congratulations, Amanda! I’m sure you’ll be even more busy knitting and crocheting for the grand bundle of joy! I am looking forward to the knitting the Field Sweater by Camila Vad for my Rhinebeck sweater as soon it is released. Thanks for the knitting company, happy knitting and crocheting! ❤❤
I think the Alaska sweater is lovely and a change from a colorwork yoke, but I like the idea of highlighting texture too. Both Abbeyhill and Deliciosa are on my list. Congrats on the new baby and thanks for the knitting company!
Beautiful projects ladies! Congrats on becoming a Grandma Amanda🥰I’m not planning on doing a Rhinebeck sweater, but I do have plans to knit myself a cardigan later this year☺️
Congratulations on becoming a grandma! I am currently working on a shawl for my daughter for her upcoming wedding. Fingers crossed that next year at this time I will becoming a grandma too.
I think Mimi is a great choice, Amanda!! Of course, I am partial since all my grandchildren call me Mimi! An added plus it's an easy first word!! 😂 I am so excited for you!!! Just wait until you hear your grandbaby say your chosen name for the first!! Your heart will melt and you will never be the same!!!
I expect there willt be a lot of Pressed Flowers cardigans and pullovers at Rhinebeck this year. It's such a fun knit, and the possible colour combinations are endless! Also, a good way to use handspun! Great episode. Can't wait to hear what Dr. Jen suggests for your neckline treatment, Kathleen. Congratulations on the upcoming meemaw status, Amanda!
Congratulations Amanda! I like Mimi, - I’m expecting my second grandchild in October and being a new knitter- I can’t wait see which patterns you choose! Sorry, no Rhinebeck for me- but take lots of photos - wishing you a weekend filled with fun, friends and good yarn ! I’ve got a Love Note on hold, finishing up a crochet block stitch blanket for a baby boy and a crochet shell stitch for a baby girl- as gifts🍼👶🏻🙏🏼
Amanda!!! Congratulations! If I were able to go to Rhinebeck this year, I would knit the kit I bought at Cake Palooza last year for the Wave of Change jacket. I think it’s a great sweater for the fall.
Originally a Jersey Girl now living in NC. Have never been to Rhinebeck, but would love to go at some time. Not sure what sweater I would like to make. I know either way no matter what I would decide a new pattern comes out I’ll want to make that. I agree with Kathleen I wish the pattern would come out a little sooner especially working on other projects. Amanda congratulations on your happy news.❤️
So exciting to have a new wee ❤life in the family. I’ve seen the sneak peeks of Andreas new patterns! No chance of me coming to rhinebeck but I think the vest is the one I’ll Knit up.
Congratulations Amanda! I like Mimi, seriously you should be able to chose your own’ grandma’ name! No Rhinebeck this year but if I were going I’d knit the Alpine Bloom-I think that’s going to be a popular one this year.
I love your channel. I haven't been to Rhinebeck yet, nor is it in my near future, but I would live to go. My Rhinebeck sweater would have to be light as I run really warm, so I am thinking of a first snow.
Congratulations on the new addition Amanda! What an exciting and knit worthy event! Due to the fact that my personal summer's last WAY longer than actual summers, my Rhinebeck sweater is typically short sleeve. I'm thinking about doing some color work in a short sleeve version of a Jennifer Steingass pattern. My Rhinebeck trip is always weather dependent. I'm spoiled even to be close enough to say I'm not going in the rain!
Congrats to Amanda!!!! My kiddos could not pronounce grandma so we tried grammy and it turned into Mimi and grandpa was Bompa so we have Mimi and Bompa. I went to Wool and Folk and RB last year but I won’t be attending this year; I know I’ll totally have FOMO as the time approaches. Planning for next year though 😊
I need to finish my Holland sweater for Rhinebeck, I have been trying I think since 2018.. its a great raglan center pleat sweater perfect alone or with a shirt underneath.
Such a fun episode. I can not attend Rhinebeck this year. If I was going for three days...for the saturday...would be the alpine bloom. I would also be making a shawl, cardigan, must plan for all types of weather.
Rhinebeck is on my list to visit, but I'm still trying to figure out the Alpenglow. Not sure why but color combo- wise, that's been the trickiest sweater to figure out colors for. All the best, gals!! Kimberly
Hi Kimberly - I feel like a lot of people struggled with colors on that one - there are so many options! One key thing is to decide if you want high-contrast or low-contrast and then pick colors according to that. 😊 ~K🧶
Congratulations, Amanda! Grandparenting is the best! We chose Grandma and Grandpa as our names, but our grandson couldn’t say that. He called us Mama and Papa, so that’s who we are. The best laid plans, right? The parents are Mommy and Daddy. I made Joji Locatelli’s Virginia for Rhinebeck-in Springtime at Yarnia!
Hi Kathleen, Amanda and Jenn, another enjoyable episode! Congratulations Amanda and family on Catherine's happy exciting news! Have not been to Rhinebeck yet, hope to go one year! I would like to make a Ranunculus, Weekender or Flax sweater! Happy Knitting everyone! Enjoy! Happy 4th of July!
If I was going to Rhinebeck this year I would make the J&P cardigan by Albiona MacLochlainn. The weather in October can be variable and layers are helpful plus I need more hand-made cardigans in my wardrobe.
I'm not going to RB this year but have been there when it has been close to 90 and as cold as the 20's so it is super hard to know what to knit or pack!
No rhinebeck sweater for me since I am on the west coast of Canada….but we do have knit city in the fall! My self and a knit group friend have cast on hot pink v-neck sweaters. Mine is fingering and mohair! So fluffy!
I would love to go to Rhinebeck, but I haven’t any knitting friends, Allmy friends are quilters and I jumped on the knitting train alone.. I would love to knit the Confluence . Thanks for a fun giveaway..
Hi Jenn, I’m watching this on my porch in eastham - I’m in depot pond- right behind great pond.!! Love your podcast- My grandchildren call me gram Having my 4th in December 💕💕
Friends and I are going to Meg Swanson's Knit Camp and we are all making (or started) a sweater called Trekking Forward by Trudy Joseph which I am using as my Rhinebeck sweater also. I likely won't be able to wear it though b/c I am a habitual starter and a real finishing slacker:(
I’m going to rhinebeck this year and was thinking of knitting the alpenbloom by Caitlin hunter but I heard the new Andrea mowry sweater comes on the 13th so I’m patiently waiting
hello ladies! think i heard andrea mowry pattern for rhinebeck is coming out mid july. a youtuber i watch was a test knitter and i am sure that is what she was saying.
Hi there - I've got notes in my Ravelry project about what I did, and a note on what Jen did - another good option and one that makes more sense if you're not doing it after the fact. 😊 www.ravelry.com/projects/vandie/soldotna-crop
@@ChroniclesofYarnia thanks so much for getting back to me. Dropping necklines is definitely a skill I want to learn as I personally don’t like anything tight up against my neck. Thanks again for the info

I would knit the Weekender for a Rhinebeck sweater to comemorate a fantastic weekend at the New York Sheep and Wool festival.
Thank you ladies, loved this podcast. Alpine Bloom will be a beautiful and relatively fast.

Oh my goodness I wish I could go to Rhinebeck, it would be an absolutely amazing birthday event for me on the 22ed!
If I was going to Rhinebeck I'd wait for the andrea mowry sweater to come out. Congratulations on going to be a grandma.
I was ready to get Indie Untangled tickets too, but it crashed and then the slot wasn’t available. So I won’t be going to that event. Oh well.

I am working on the new Alpine Bloom sweater so that is a contender. I just tested the Solare sweater. Also a contender. So many choices.
I think the Tolsta Tee would be a great Rhinebeck sweater. You can change it to fit your level of knitting
I dream about going to Rhinebeck. I would probably knit a cardigan because you never know about the weather.
Such a fun episode. I can not attend Rhinebeck this year. If I was going for three days...for the saturday...would be the alpine bloom. I would also be making a shawl, cardigan, must plan for all types of weather.
Good strategy! Also, Alpine Bloom added to favorites! ~K🧶
Omg no way! I'm so excited!!! (Changed my TH-cam name bc you just reminded me I never did lol) I'll see ya Wednesday!
Congrats! see you this Wednesday 🤞🏻~K🧶
I would knit the Arctic Bloom!❤
I meant the Alpine Bloom Tee.

Hello from Mounds, Illinois.
Hi there!
No Rhinebeck for me, but I am really hoping to make the Elton Pullover for this fall!
Rhinebeck is on my bucket list! If I were going this year, I’d probably do the Love Notes or Tanunculus - I love the detaining around the yolks.
I'm too far to go to Rineback but I would love to make a colour work sweater!
I started the Aphra by Isabelle Kramer as my Rhinebeck sweater since I know it will take me a few months to complete
I would make the Somerset sweater by Beth MacDonald Stone.
Congratulations, Amanda! Grandparenting is the best! We chose Grandma and Grandpa as our names, but our grandson couldn’t say that. He called us Mama and Papa, so that’s who we are. How about Nanny for a grandmothers name. CONGRATS!!!
Hi love your podcast. I think it would be hard to decide but I think I would like to knit Kuutar by Sari Nordlund if I was going to Rhinebeck.
I’m waiting for Andrea Mowry’s but really liking her Traveler Hoodie
i'll probably never get to rhinebeck, but... maybe i'd knit another felix (cardigan or pullover?)
I’m going to rhinebeck this year and was thinking of knitting the alpenbloom by Caitlin hunter but I heard the new Andrea mowry sweater comes on the 13th so I’m patiently waiting
Ohhh - fingers crossed - we'll keep an eye out!
I’m hoping to go to Rhinebeck in 2025 but if I were going going I think I would make the Main Squeeze Pullover by Jen Geigley
How about the yellow queen sweater or alpine bloom. I’ve never been to Rhinebeck and would love to go this year but have to work that Saturday 😞
Hi Pearl - There's always Sunday! Sometimes people find it easier to do their first time on a Sunday when it s a lot less crowded. 😊
hello ladies! think i heard andrea mowry pattern for rhinebeck is coming out mid july. a youtuber i watch was a test knitter and i am sure that is what she was saying.
Thanks! I knew I hadn't seen it on anything directly from AM, so that makes sense! ~K🧶
