Damn, no four lead test for winding resistance to ground. I just assumed it did it, why wouldn't it? Damn Megger! I could care less it can't detect rotation from a VFD, but this is disappointing. I do however like the remote lead ability, if that remote lead works for the DLRO test function. I'll have to download the manual and check. Thanks again for the video, off to see the third one.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I too was disappointed that it didn't also test to ground - not the end of the world as you can still set up the test manually but it would have really made the unit standout it if did have the feature. Unlike some of the issues I see it having, I think this one would require a redesign of a part of the instrument to implement. The remote lead does not come with the instrument, so you have to purchase it separately. It is the same lead that the MIT420 series uses, I have not found another one that is compatible. It is only a single probe output, so isn't compatible with the 4-wire DLRO test, it may still trigger it, I haven't tried that but I will give it a go this weekend and report back on this comment. The 4-wire test mode does have both a manual and automatic function. In automatic mode it will start the test itself as the probes make contact and a circuit is detected, which for me is just as good as having a remote button to start the test. It is an interesting option though, I did purchase the duplex leads for the instrument from Megger and they do not have the remote operation button. There will be a video out on the 4 wire testing towards the end of next week / beginning of the following week.
Great video TP.

@@three-phase562 Ok, the auto function would work just as well then. Good to know! Thanks.
