Chitra, you are correct. Very few movies I felt kamal didn’t get involved. One of the movie is soora Samharam. It felt like just that hero came and acted in that movie. That’s all. All that scenes of thakali seenivasan, kitty , where all doesn’t seem to be like a kamal movie at all. Also, tell us, why he didn’t interfere?
I watched cashback(puthan panam) movie in TH-cam, Mamooty superb acting. No other actor will even accept to play that role and even if they accept, they can’t do that role genuinely. They will spoil the character by mixing their heroism and style. But Mamooty did justice for that role by acting exactly how that person will behave in each and every situation of that movie.

The only movie that I felt good from Selvamani’s direction is Makkal aatchi. All others felt like average movie to me. Makkal aatchi really felt like a superb bold approach and screenplay story looked very fresh. Dialogues are hard hitting. But because few scenes were cinematic, like Roja dieing and climax, that movie didn’t reach a blockbuster level. I still remember in those days we used to rent vcp deck to see movies, because our family was so huge we can’t afford to see movie in theatres. We watched a pirated copy after a week the movie was released. In one day we watched 4 movies, all through evening and night. I remember Muthu and Muraimaman (it was comaparively old movie then) were other 2 movies. Kuruthi punal was 4th movie, which I avoided watching because it was too dark. Infact that Diwali 1995, Makkal aatchi should have been the blockbuster. Infact Shankar would have got good idea and confidence for making Mudhalvan, only by watching the response for Makkal aatchi.
