What a wonderful, great woman. She went with her own instincts which turned out to be correct. She was always a regal presence at all of Secretariat's races.
Yes. Such class and became so knowledgable. She's racing Royalty and never used it to belittle anyone but to lift up everyone in the racing industry. Shes a "tremendous machine" in her own right.
What an absolute pleasure and wealth of information this lady is.......charming, determined, informed, and yet humble. And, she loves horses - this greatly manifested thru her relationship with Big Red! He indeed remains ~ One for the Ages ~ ~ ~
Thanks for sharing this video,in did what an amazing woman and beautiful human being with A lot of love to horses and what she did ,a very humble radiant and beautiful women God Bless her where ever she is
Secretariat fans owe it to themselves to read Bill Nack’s classic article from Sports Illustrated titled “Pure Heart”. It’s a love story about a turf writer and the greatest racehorse of all time.
Incredibly amazing lady that risked everything because she totally believed in her horse when nobody else would. IMHO, though, she should've done better for Eddie Sweat. Eddie was with Secretariat since his birth. Eddie died impoverished.
Do you see how quickly he stopped after Ronnie stood up? That is a sign of a horse in PERFECT condition. NO DRUGS TO ENHANCE SPEED LIKE THEY USE TODAY AT ALL!!!! Take that ARROGATE, PHAROAH and the REST!!!
Other then the common use of anti-bleeding drug Lasix it's pretty hard to drug a racehorse. They do pre-race drug tests on all and post race on the horses in the money.
@@robertsmale3714 You must be out of your mind; Maximum Security wasn't a drug scandal but an issue with his jockey. As for drugs being masked, the test are so sensitive these days that they pick up the tiniest amount of medications just ask Baffert. It is hard to hide legal not to mention illegal drugs. My family primarily trained on hay, oats and water.
@@angelaalberts7247 Fully aware of that. I’m not out of my mind. His trainer was known for juicing horses, and it is certainly possible that horse could have been too. He certain didn’t perform to the same level after that. You missed the point of the response. And there were certainly questions are the “status” of that horse. Yes I know full well what happened in the Derby.
What happened to the 678 so called bad horses?? Look it up to see what happens to the poor souls who never asked for this in the first place. I don't think there are "bad" horses.....just bad people trying to make a buck off them
Thank God for Penny, she made the world a better place with her presents!
RIP dear lady!

Steve K Maybe you should check out the Maximum Security scandal. It’s always possibly to mask drugs to beat tests. It’s just been shown.

Luck favors the prepared mind.
We spent 30 years in the industry to become an overnight success. That's what I'm talking about.
Tuvo el mejor caballo de la historia
She used to be Penny Chenery not for as long as she was Penny Tweedy.
So she did not change her name back after the divorce? Well that makes sense since she had kids.

Like YOUR TRUE and BOLD THINKING . THERE ARE! NO ! BAD HORSES! OR DOGS OR ANY ANIMALS! JUST PEOPLE ! The so called Intelligent Species . ?????
The ONLY STUPID QUESTION IS THE ONE NOT! ASKED. And Lady Cheney, your attitude was your horses. As was your dads. ☺️💓
