I just saw the biopic, "Ride Like A Girl" about Michelle Payne's story. And I can't wait to see how Amelia does in the future. Maybe she'd get a chance at the Melbourne Cup too!
I thought this was really good so I decided to look up her jockey status. She made 18 starts in 2017 1- 1st 3-2nd 1-3rd. She hasn't raced since hope she is still working as a horseman in some capacity.

You are a jockey, and hopefully in the very near future, I hope 1 of those horse owners will put you on 1 of their horses to race in the Kentucky derby. Is it possible for someone like me who weighs 144lbs to drop it down to 105-110-118? I would like to know if it could be done in a safe manner and not a tour her one and, would I have a longer life span then the taller jockeys and how long would I live for if my average weight is 144lbs but I weighed 105lbs. I would have to loose 44lbs. Is that possible. Sounds not possible, but really!? If I worked at a racing stables and asked them if they could train me to become a jockey and said yes, what should I say after that, yes, no, yes? But I would be a short-term jockey if that's possible. I'm a newbie but am obsessed with this because I think it can be done which is really really really really coooooooooooooooooooooool!

It matters more on your height. Most jockeys are around 5 feet or shorter, which is why they can weigh 100-120 lb without too many health problems. I absolutely support you in trying to get down and race though, no matter your height! Be the one in a million, who else is gonna?
