Yup very frustrating. Even more frustrating is realizing that you can't explain it to them bc if they could get it you wouldn't have to explain it.
But like the 🐐 said, "might not get it, but it's dope though"

It’s difficult to pick up on it. Schools don’t teach poetry like it once was. Lupe had to work at this.
      °
It’s a gift to see people not pick up on it because you’ll immediately see how you can bring it back to them!
      °
It’s not a lost art if we have friends and family to keep it alive.
      °
      - Two days ago, I showed my dad Lupe’s seminar at MIT. My dad is into rock and punk. He deeply appreciated me showing him Lupe Fiasco.
      °
He’s a deep fan of poetry.
He memorized poetry in school as class-assignments. I didn’t.
      °
HipHop & Rap keep poetry alive.
Many industry-artist turned ears away during the club’s pump-n’-dump era of it.
      °
With reaction videos, we have insights delivered from the gems we didn’t hear blasted in our cities without our consent.
      °
Perspective will make or break a man.
      Get made.

Ms Mural solidified itself as my new favorite Lupe Song. This dude continues finding ways to blow me away, pause. I was 16 when I first heard the Fahrenheit mixtapes. I'm now 35 & never missed a beat & haven't stopped being thoroughly impressed by lupes body of work. Long live Lupe.

This might be my favorite Lupe album. Concise, lyrically dense, great hip hop production, classic Lupe abstractions, it has it all. Didn't realize you thought Lupe was your top lyricist. He is mine. Brings a tear to my eye to see him bring everything together (again). Great reaction!!

The Malcolm x verse is crazy and I don’t think many realize it.
Malcolm x was a revolutionary preaching a message that was against the US empire. Lu uses the bars about aliens to set up the last two bars where he asks himself what he thinks Malcolm x meant. Then he answers with the Star Wars bar, harkening back to the alien theme earlier while also tying the knot on what Malcolm x stood for as the rebel vs the evil empire. Amazing verse.

Aesop Rock is lyrical jazz and that's exactly why I love him so much. As Ferne Calloway says in Critical Role, "Jazz is chaos" and I do appreciate me some chaos, not better than Lupe though, on the same plane just with different approches, Lupe will forever be one of the best lyricists, so many albums blew me away and this one is no exception.

Had to come in and say it, Vampire Hunter D has a demon in his hand that talks and does some kind of wind thing (I have 2 wallscrolls). Alucard from Hellsing anime/manga releases his magic limitations by doing hand signals, a Naruto shout out could have worked with all the hand signals in that too. Also I never thought about the neuralink parallels between plugging into the matrix and assassin's creed.

I think Tommy signature is Tommy gun and Bonny is Bonny and Clyde. On Seattle, goku's Spirit (alcohol) bomb is a double entendre. That's his Uncle at the end of the track. Soundtrakk sent Lu a 100 beat/ideas pack, Lu chose the beats himself I think. If you see any pac man references (era era era), look up a interview (I forget who they interviewed, underground Chicago rapper) a rapper named Pac man invented drill music, but he was murdered. Crazy how deep these concepts can be for 3 days of writing, some ideas are from the Royce podcast too.

Amazing my friend Ernest!!....In 2017, the music world was shocked by the bursting onto the scene of a 22-year-old singer named Dimash Kudaibergen, who performed on the famous Chinese competition show for professional singers called “The Singer”... It was just It was necessary for this young man to make his first appearance, making a cover of one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse", to be considered from that moment on as the best singer in the entire planet....No one in the musical field had ever seen a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges above 7 octaves and several semitones, that is, all 88 keys of a digital piano, which reaches a little more than 7 octaves and as if that weren't enough, sing the more than 12 languages...Since then all kinds of experts (Vocal coach, analysts, singing teachers, youtubers, reactors, etc.) have dedicated themselves to reviewing their presentations to try to understand how someone can sing this way...The incredible thing is that that presentation in China was in 2017 and 5 years have passed since then, but what Dimash has done in these 5 years is to further improve his wide vocal range, which is currently practically above of the 8 octaves... The Covid pandemic stopped his concerts worldwide, all with tickets sold in just seconds, via the internet, but at the same time it ended up catapulting him to the top of popularity worldwide...Anyway, since I think you are one of those reactors who have not yet met this impressive singer, here is the link of that presentation in China in 2017, with the song S.O.S. and I would like you to mention my name as the person who recommended him to you..It is a more recent video than the others, so it does not have the same number of views as the previous ones, which have millions of views, but it is a more complete video, with an intro, subtitles in several languages and with the improved quality of audio and sound....th-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/w-d-xo.html

We all know on foreign shores that they finance wars
But ask yourself, "Do they finance yours?" yes hes rapping about the war on terrorism but the central banks finance yours finance means $$$$$ Finance is a term for matters regarding the management, creation, and study of money and investments. It involves the use of credit and debt,
Lupe is posing the question “Do the conflicts in Africa have any involvement with our War on Terror?” How much would it cost us to go in and stop all this violence? How would the global community react to us doing this? How long would it take? How many American lives would be lost? How much effort would it take and the effect on the economy?
Pills with million side effects, take 'em when the pain's felt
Wash them down with diet soda, killing off your brain cells
Crooked banks around the world would gladly give a loan today
So if you ever miss a payment, they can take your home away -Words i never said Lupe Fiasco.

I really think the War on Terror is a bunch of bullshit
Just a poor excuse for you to use up all your bullets
How much money does it take to really make a full clip?
9/11, building 7, did they really pull it?

“Do the conflicts in Africa have any involvement with our War on Terror?” yes they do American troops are in africa they have been for a long time The U.S. has roughly 800 military personnel temporarily deployed to Niger, and rough 6,000 military personnel spread across the continent, according to U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM). Many of those troops are there to support African partners, alongside allies like France, with the goal of increasing the African nations' own security capabilities and stabilizing the region. AFRICOM only began initial operations 10 years ago, in October 2007.

Camp Lemonnier is the only permanent U.S. base in Africa, and serves as a key outpost for surveillance and combat operations against al Qaeda and other extremist groups in the region. not sure about legit Africans involved in it but the Jihadist who are in africa are sure Suring it up whether real or media induce style/type of terrorism

The country with the second most U.S. military personnel deployed there is Niger, with roughly 800, according to AFRICOM. Next comes Somalia, Djibouti's neighbor, with roughly 400 U.S. military personnel. The fourth nation in terms of U.S. military personnel is Cameroon, with more than 100.

I remember loving Lupe's music so much until N.E.R.D and conflict diamonds had some v antisemitic lines... First music I've checked from Lupe since then and glad to see it's not still showing up. This album was incredible!

    Yeah yeah, yeah yeah
I said, yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah (uh)
Assassin's Creed, rapping it back indeed
Like a mansion that's lacking fees, tapping the blackest keys
Capture catastrophes like a camera feed
Ball like a can of peas, fall like Michael Jackson on anaesthes'
    Mistaking maidens for manatees
Neuralink is now pirating all your fantasies
    Mistaking the sanitation for sanity
My mistake, I'm mistaking staying for cannot leave
I see your color (Yeah, yeah)
Assassin's Creed, lasso to the hammer squeeze (I see your color)
Throwing Wonder Woman, battle at the apple trees
Or like Adam-Eve happened at a Applebees
Y'all can go half on a sample platter you can have with cheese
Battered covered data with the added tees
Giant leaps, beware where that landing ladder leads
'Cause you can walk up there
But don't take off your mask, I'm tryna talk up there, yeah
'Cause ain't no screams in space
Egyptian museum, they keep the kings in crates
Thrones out on loan and they keep their rings in safes
You decide, apple pie or the fries come with the snake
Prosperous gospel, got choirs all on the case
Poverty pimpin' angel wings, flies all on her face
Wave a K until they die and then ride all on their wake
Shooting track on the track, I ride all on their freights
Like I'm shoestring, they say you can't escape when rich
It's just a bigger plate, they catching bait with fish
