And yes, totally agree, the special vibe for the LYF, at least for me, was when everything was happening in the first part, related to this village and the magic they created about it... Even the characters were more interesting at that point, at the beginning stage of the drama ... may be because all their identities were yet mysterious and not revealed 😊

After watching this episode I looked up "Lost you Forever" and started watching. Maybe it's my imagination but after the walk thru with you it has added a whole other dimension to the series and makes it so much more enjoyable to watch. It reminds me of wandering around San Francisco as a young man after watching the movie the "Maltese Falcon" or "Bullet" (I have really dated myself there. I wonder how many of your audience have heard of those films, lol) It has always been fascinating to be able to visit places that are a part of a movie or tv series that actually exist. I hope I can someday visit those places you have pointed out with a visit to China. Thank you for your efforts.

I love that they haven’t over commercialized all of those places. If you go to an American studios, especially Universal Studios, it’s essentially become primarily a theme park as much or more than a working studio. It wasn’t always so. I went to Universal when I was 12 and we all ate in the commissary and there were lots of working actors there. It’s when and we’re I met Vincent Price. I returned in 1978 and it was still mostly studio but, it was evolving into a theme park somewhat. Now, yes there are sound stages and sets but, it’s definitely more theme park than working studio. I hope that doesn’t happen there.

Thanks for all the hard work and walking to show us the BTS sets - adds so much more color to how C-dramas are made. It would be a very interesting series if you had access to other things like the traditional costumes and how actors have to be fitted and work in them, how scripts are written, etc. For example I just saw on Marcus Here's channel that Xu Kai mentioned how he needed a hair transplant after all his hair pieces in costume dramas damaged his hairline. But this series at HengDian was super interesting and gives new appreciation for the work film crews and actors put into the dramas.

I'm really appreciating your effort to bring these things to us, enriching our experiences. Very grateful, thank you. I wonder if you have ever done a video specifically on cultural elements or references to cultural themes such as "white wolf" or "nine tailed fox" or aspects/perceptions of colour both currently and historically... I think it's kind of like Sleeping Beauty pricking her finger on a spindle - most modern spindles and spinning wheels don't have the needle-pointed spindle which European people 150 years ago were familiar with (I spin, so I do know, which is why I chose this example as many people ask this question).
Shoting on set is so much more beautiful and the joke is, often is even cheaper then do CGI.

In my opinion, I didn't like the drama at all, including the cast .. i barely made it to the 10 th episode and regret watching it altogether.
