- RULES
King of Macba is a game of skate where anything in the plaza count (ledge, stairs etc...) It's one attempt each until the word MACBA is spelled out. Spots must be alternated when in command, so you cant pick the same spot two times in a row. Defence has 2 tries and 3 tries on the last letter. The extra obstacle (hydrant) must be used one time in the game.

Everything is great about this, spot, skills, even the opening beat - but the very best is the obvious love and admiration between the contestants. The whole event has been one of my highlights in 2021, and I'm not even a skateboarder really, I can barely kickflip. Thank you all!

Definitely was not expecting that nollie late flip down the stairs from Tiago after failing the first one. They both deserved to win, lots of respect for both of them, esp. for that kind gesture of the new King after winning.

Looking at Tiago in this competition, and looking at any SLS event he's been a part of, it's so clear how he's satisfying his sponsors by being part of that money grabbing and skate whoring spectacle.
It warms my heart seeing him in this, how relaxed and free he acts, albeit still competitive, but in the unique and exclusive way in which skateboarding differs from any other competitive sport/artform. By competition through mutual respect and cooperation to better not only themselves but skateboarding as a whole. It's wonderful to see these two.
They're both insane skaters and beautiful human beings. Congrats Macba Life, this is skateboarding right here. Stay real. Stay true and stay loyal to IT.
