    I use #9 bonded string, which I purchase at OLRM.com. The knotting tool can also be purchased at OLRM and Amazon.

    Just wanted to thank you for making this. I couldn't find any videos where someone was making a rosary with heavier beads like you are and using a cord. I also learned how to properly attach the crucifix. Many thanks!

    I make corded Rosaries and I make mine a bit different. I find that fabric glue works wonderful on the knots that need to be glued. I like the color of the beads that were used in this video.

    I'm making a rosary for my friend but I am not Catholic. I'm wondering what is a Father bead and does the beautiful silver peace need to be like yours? Is there a significance to 10 beads rather than a different amount?.

    • @bmoraga01
      @bmoraga01 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Becky. The "Father bead" refers to the bead on which the Our Father is prayed for that particular decade. The decade is made up the 10 Hail Mary's prayed on the blue beads (in this case) and includes the one Our Father. Each decade is dedicated to one of the Mysteries of the Faith. It is upon that Mystery that the individual meditates. Catholics generally meditate on a different set of five Mysteries depending on the day of the week. There are a total of 20 different Mysteries that deal with the different events that took place in the life of Jesus and/or His Mother Mary. The Joyful Mysteries include the Annunciation, the Visitation (by Mary to her cousin Elizabeth), the Nativity of Jesus, the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, and the finding of the child Jesus in the Temple after being lost for three days. The other Mysteries include the Luminous, the Sorrowful, and the Glorious. I'll leave the rest of the details to your research. G*d bless you, and your friend is lucky to have a friend like you!

    Hello Susan, good morning. I watched your video and am inspired to re-string my g'ma's rosary.
    I think it is missing beads. So, I was thinking I could add my mother's rosary.
    I am hoping you can tell me if it is appropriate to combine 2 together?
    My son is becoming a member of our local Orthodox and happens to need a rosary. I think it would ne lovely for him to have his grandma's rosary's, but would hate to gift him something that is not acceptable.
    The beads are smaller than your beads, and vintage. I
    wonder if the string should be smaller?
    I can send you a pix if you would like to see what they look like. Thank you! Any info will help! Colette
