Reminds me of when Dad would take us out looking for a Christmas tree when we lived on a homestead in Tennessee. It is amazing how perfect trees look until you get up close. Mom wasn’t too happy with our choice.

Brilliant tree solution - I did something similar decades ago. When I was a college student, I shared an apartment with my sister and my best friend. The friend’s dad had a small farm, and he let us cut a tree as long as it didn’t look great. We took two scrubby trees. We took all the branches from one, and all the branches from one side of the other tree, then drilled holes in the side of the half tree. Decorated and against the wall it didn’t look bad, especially next to our fireplace made of packing boxes glued and taped together, and painted to look like fieldstones with an “oak” mantle. Thanks for bringing back those great memories! ♥️

I just started watching and loving it. I'm sure someone has told you the trick about drilling a hole in the tree trunk, sharpen the end of the branch and the use the silicone caulk to secure the branch in the drilled hole in the trunk. My Mom taught us this trick as kids. She wanted a nice tree but didn't want to pay for it. So she would pick out the ugliest/cheapest, gather up fallen branches or just move ones around that were on the tree. We always had a beautiful tree. Truly enjoyed.
Charlie Brown Christmas tree...love it!! So spoiled with all the tree farms in the US, but a tree from your forest will always hold a special memory for your family. Amy your husband looking at you as if you’re mad as a hatter while crashing the chandelier is priceless! It’s love!! 🤣🤣
That tree surgery was incredible. Marc watches in wonderment....add a bit here, take a bit off there - funny. Amy is full of ideas and fun. His deadpan is really something. A quiet kind of humor... That tree ended up alright ! Maybe a bit off the top --- just to the first shoot - to give a point. I never saw a tree held up with string, fish line and crossed fingers before ! Good job !

Loved the channel trailer you made, sinister drafty chateau, no it's just Marc pulling the string out of camera range, LOL! Why waste the tree after lugging it home. As a kid one of the best Christmas trees we ever had was shot off the top of a large tree by a friend of my Step-father when he was out hunting. Looking forward to watching more.

Here in SoCal, where most things are augmented unnaturally, the trunks of Christmas trees may be drilled to accept additional branches to make them “perfect.” I prefer your charming tree. So happy to have found your channel through Stephanie of LaLande.
I was so hoping to see ornaments catapulted into the next room. That would have been a perfect turn of events, or at the very least excellent entertainment value.
These two are so funny and adorable.. I have a huge crush on Marc. He is so cute. With their easy going nature and sense of humor, they're amazing parents. Their baby and future babies are so blessed to have Amy and Marc as parents. "Or we can pretend there is a very large wind blowing through the house all of the time.". Freaking hilarious. One can easily add branches to a tree. Simply drill holes and add cutting from other tree. Obviously the branches won't be able to drink. Therefore you'll need to mist these branches with a spray bottle to keep them green for as long as possible. If the tree will be up less than two weeks and not close to a heat source, there is no need to mist the added branches. When I've had the tree up for more than three weeks I replaced branches as needed. **As one can see I started my comments before Amy began adding branches.** Now is the time to prune the trees you wish to use in the years to come. Pruning not only adds symmetry, but strengthens the branches to hold your larger ornaments without having to add floral wire to keep weak branches from drooping. Cheers from Seattle!

When I was small my dad would get a Christmas tree a few days before Christmas when the prices were marked down. These trees were usually lopsided, heavy with branches on one side and nearly bare on the other. Branches were often cut from one side and wired into a bare spot. Good memories!
There are quite a few chateau vlogs now and finding your way is a challenge but I think you have and can see that this will def grow! I look forward to future vlogs and a tour 😉😉

Now is the time to prune the trees you wish to use in the years to come. Pruning not only adds symmetry, but strengthens the branches to hold your larger ornaments without having to add floral wire to keep weak branches from drooping.

When I was small my dad would get a Christmas tree a few days before Christmas when the prices were marked down. These trees were usually lopsided, heavy with branches on one side and nearly bare on the other. Branches were often cut from one side and wired into a bare spot. Good memories!
