    You should've press the horn button first, to be sure it's working before screwing on the horn button to your steering wheel. I watched so many videos on TH-cam, with idiots attaching their own wire to make their horn work. If the wires are connected properly, you shouldn't have to cut anything. It should be a simple installation with the wires that came with your Aftermarket steering wheel to your horn button, and a sensor on the back that touches the hub to make the horn go off when you press it.

      Gravecb7 Accord yeah you are right, I got the correct boss from my local auto store. My horn does work because I recently registered my car so it needed to work otherwise it would not pass. I look back on this video and there are a few things I remember I forgot to put in but the basic concept is still there. Hope this video helped you and if you have any other how to’s you would like to see I’m more than happy to show you if possible!

    Can anyone say how far out the steering wheel ends up? Does it end up closer to or further away from the driver, the adapter looks thick! I've been holding out on this mod cause of that.
    Thanks.

      Depends on how deep you're gonna go with the steering wheel, if you get a flat steering wheel it should be close to stock distance

    Is there any wiring to do to connect the hub from the car? So you can use the horn

    • @jamesmotorsport9062
      @jamesmotorsport9062  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not usually. There is a metal surface on the boss and the hub that provides a connection but it may be different for other cars. I’m pretty sure its a universal thing though.

    Did you have to force the hub on?

    • @jamesmotorsport9062
      @jamesmotorsport9062  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it should be a tight fit but it shouldn’t have too much resistance cause it might the the wrong part size and you’ll wreck your steering column.

    It's funny how I search for my unicorn of a car for a tutorial and can't find the specific one. Although I look for the task (hub and steering wheel install) and found a tutorial of my car. 😅

      MJL it’s a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage, the interior design was probably a base design for most cars in that year for Mitsubishi

      Raw potato 69 no, it’s fixed. If seen so many budget “snap off” quick release bosses that have failed. Since I’m on a budget I used a saas fixed boss.

    • @jamesmotorsport9062

      Not if the car doesn’t have any! If your car has airbags please disconnect the battery and leave it for 24 hours for the car to discharge before replacing the wheel

    • @jamesmotorsport9062
      @jamesmotorsport9062  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      re gib hi, if you are talking about the boss then yes. It’s is what mounts the wheel to the steering column. The steering column only allows for a factory wheel to be mounted so the correct boss for the car (findable from most local automotive stores or online). I hope I answered your question :)

    • @regib3937
      @regib3937 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      James Motorsport... not quite, what i meant is that there’s a circular piece of metal that has two protruding ends on both sides but I’m not too sure if it’s needed
