My personal go-to rig at the moment is a PVA Bag set up using Gemini tackle Tidy stems. (Probably the best thing since sliced bread) I follow this with a 2inch leader critically balanced with a DNA Bug pop up and corn 👍🏼

It can be but really doesn't have to be. It can literally be change of rig, and making sure you have a knotless/carp friendly net and a landing mat.. you really don't need to have all the fancy stuff.
@It's Tipp Topp Fishing I'm still getting used to the specimen style it's just much more fun in my opinion but also a bit expensive at times
@Razor64 it really can be but if you just buy a ready made rig and use feed corn that you cook and prepare correctly it can be really affordable
I disagree ... fishing specimen carp fishing is useless with thin papgooi line ... That’s why we have so many fish trailing line and guys losing fish
