I'm actually on my third Magic Keyboard, one step down from the current model. Like a lot of Apple products I own, it's probably overpriced. But after I start to use it, and then use it over time, the initial buyer's remorse feeling has been replaced by the overall positive user experience. I, too, have tried other keyboards with it, and to me there's just no equal to the build, the function, the fluidity of the Magic Keyboard with my iPad Pro. This is why I'll continue to "maybe" pay more than need be for Apple products like this one; the user satisfaction, at least for this user, is very satisfactory. Once again, informative video. Thank you, Jason!
Overpriced? Yes. Worth it? Yes…if you want to use your iPad as your main laptop replacement. I am still on the M1 iPad and I use it as my laptop replacement, and edit all my vids on it. I have the Smartfolio keyboard and it does the job, when I next upgrade the iPad I will also go all in on this keyboard case.
Same, I love mine and I should have bought it sooner than buying other mice or trackpads or keyboards for my 11” M2. If you bought a nice keyboard, a tablet stand, and a mouse, it would still be $200-300 instead, and then you still have to carry all of those things around.
If the ipad is your primary machine I can understand that you need/want a keyboard. But if you have another machine, like a macbook pro or a windows machine, why would you really need the keyboard?
I do have a MacBook, but I use my iPad as my main. I like being able to type up sometime, then take off the screen to review it. And I actually like iPados since it's super easy and simple without complex features. Just overall super versatile
This was my fist apple keyboard case for my ipad. Have had many ipads, but always hated how expensive they are and they wont work with the next years model. That being said, this is the best case ive ever had, it looks and feels great and makes u more productive.
I really like mine but I bought it on sale for $250 for my M2 Pro. If you look at it as replacing a tablet stand, a keyboard, and a trackpad/mouse then to me it’s the best accessory to combine all of those. But if you have the need for a Windows or Mac laptop and your iPad isn’t your primary machine, would say get that instead.
It could potentially be more worth it, IF it was forwards and backwards compatible. I don't know if it is or not, but I know if I bought one, I'd be holding onto it for as long as possible no matter what my upgrade cycle was.
I got one with my M4 and I really love it but completely agree with the downsides, including the price and the material. I did get a skin for mine and really like it. I also don’t tend to jump from tech to tech so I’m settled in with my M4 for a long time.
It is wayyyyy too expensive, however the M4 13 iPad Pro is my main computer and it’s probably my favorite keyboard. Great key travel, and I’m glad Apple added the function row. I wouldn’t be happy with a BT keyboard. I wish Apple would knock like $100 off of the price. Great vid!
Last year I legit upgraded to the M4 iPad Pro just for that keyboard. I ended up taking it back though only because it was so expensive and I already had the M2 iPad Pro. I really enjoyed the keyboard though. I did notice that the old magic keyboard was way more sturdy
Mine stopped working properly. It would act fine without any power to it but when I added a power source nothing worked as normal. Apple ordered me a replacement. Life is 😊
Wow, Apple have done it again. A keyboard so incredible that you have no problems typing on it and it even has extra function buttons! Nobody has ever seen such a keyboard, and for only $350! Imagine being a non-Apple user with their keyboards that only have 3 keys and with all those problems typing on them. And they don't even have $1000 stands!
Price of $350 is higher than it should and everyone knows it including Apple. So, the trick is to get it on sale at Best Buy and "open box". I got my white 13 inch M4 iPad Pro Magic Keyboard for $220 which is pretty decent for how good it is. My iPad Pro is my main laptop on the go.
To control the keyboard light brightness add the widget to your control center and then you can adjust it from there. Otherwise you have to go into the display settings to adjust. Just add the widget to the control center.
I still have my ipad air 4 with the magic keyboard , our dollar down under is worth dirt so it was about another 150 bucks more expensive than your US ones , so yeah around the 500 hundred mark , which really hurt my peasant like bank balance at the time , but 4+ years on , its still working like a beauty , as is my little ipad . i have at times thought to myself , protection wise , this thing will not offer much in the way of protection , but as a clumsy old fart , on occasion i have had my feet up on the table kicked it and the ipad off the table several times , and the little ipad has came away unscathed every time , like wise i`ve had it on the bed and knocked it off , and again , it the ipad lives without a mark on it . Mine has that same material as yours that seems to absorb greasy marks that seem to resist all effort to come clean . i do still think it was a bit pricey , but its lasted well , so i wont complain too much .
You know in your heart you got ripped off. I own an iPad Pro 2024 with the M4 chip. I got it for Christmas. I refused to buy a magic keyboard ,instead I bought the Amazon look-alike Bluetooth that cost 30 bucks and I’m just , not quite as happy however, very satified. At 1/11 the price, it’s not only manageable, it does everything the 350 $ magic keyboard does without the smudges.
Absolutely not. Its over priced. It’s also a good keyboard and makes a great iPad stand and charger. I’ve had one since 2018 and occasionally use it to type things, but mostly I have it setup next to my monitor plugged into a USB C and when I need a second monitor I just plop the iPad onto the keyboard/Stand and use it for that while the iPad simultaneously charges up. But $350 is steep. I think it’s worth $175 and if Apple priced them like that, they would sell a ton of them.
Honestly even at $35 it would be over priced. A dreadful unusable keyboard, stnd and cover should either be included with the device or be less than $100.
@@micleeso really why do you think so? I’m mad that they don’t have a 13 inch version of keyboard because it actually does have the keyboard light function that Jason mentioned.
I use a $35 third-party keyboard case with my iPad & it works just fine
The price is TGH !!!
Ha!

10:10 get the ESR folio case for when you don’t need the keyboard. That’s only 25 bucks
This was my fist apple keyboard case for my ipad. Have had many ipads, but always hated how expensive they are and they wont work with the next years model. That being said, this is the best case ive ever had, it looks and feels great and makes u more productive.

the dbrand skin is definitely worth it, as well as the pitaka folio case
Totally agree, Jason. Wouldn’t have an iPad without one now.
It could potentially be more worth it, IF it was forwards and backwards compatible. I don't know if it is or not, but I know if I bought one, I'd be holding onto it for as long as possible no matter what my upgrade cycle was.
You can turn it upside down and have the keyboard sticking up in the air, but that's a bit awkward.

There is zero key travel which is why it is a dreadful keyboard

7:55 I highly recommend a dbrand skin. It helps protect the keyboard case and keeps the fingerprints away.
What sucks is you can’t use the keyboard without a matching iPad
Wow, Apple have done it again. A keyboard so incredible that you have no problems typing on it and it even has extra function buttons!

Exactly! Just get it used in good condition. Less waste, less cost, better everything
I bought the dbrand matte black skin for the Magic Keyboard last week. Not only does it solve the problem it looks way better
I thought u sold the iPad Pro to get the iPad mini.
I went back.
To control the keyboard light brightness add the widget to your control center and then you can adjust it from there. Otherwise you have to go into the display settings to adjust. Just add the widget to the control center.
I’ve had mine for over 6 months and I will tell you I like it ALOT
You can adjust the back lighting keyboard brightness in the iPad settings
But there's no shortcut which sucks!

The price is too damn high but i can’t live without it, apple knows what they are doing 😂
Im sorry but. . . LUXURY... is not a plastic or aluminum keyboard. . . Make it gold and thats worth more than 350$$
hard to justify that keyboard for an Ipad....which I am not sure is even a very meaningful product with all the great laptops out there!
That’s Apple! Buy refurbished or open box from Best Buy save a little. I have older model but I love it!

Of course a keyboard isn't worth $350... but it is the best keyboard for the iPad Pro. Do with that as you will.
Honestly even at $35 it would be over priced. A dreadful unusable keyboard, stnd and cover should either be included with the device or be less than $100.
Absolutely not. In this economy no keyboard in the world is worth $350
So…there’s a national economic status that would make this keyboard worth $350?
One word: ebay
It is crap, my fingers keep hitting the bottom of the ipad. Plus the ipad is a crappy laptop. Did i say crap?
That material is not built to last that is why i would never buy that keyboard.
It’s pretty well made assuming you take care of it, it should last a very long time
I've had mine since it's came out. Still works great
Nope.
Helllno
brydge is better
Yaaa - NO.
@@micleeso really why do you think so? I’m mad that they don’t have a 13 inch version of keyboard because it actually does have the keyboard light function that Jason mentioned.
Brydge went bust--it was seemingly not that good. I had a few, and they all are broken.
Exactly
