  • Chivda is a delicious Snack mix or namkeen (savory and salted) mixture made with flattened rice flakes (poha), spices, dry fruit and nuts, plus hints of salt and some basic spices.The result is a crunchy, crispy treat with a delightful combination of salty and sweet flavors.
    Here I am sharing with you a Bihari style chivda or namkeen recipe that is vegan and addictively delicious. It’s my personal favorite combination of ingredients for a wonderfully crispy, crunchy, sweet and salty mix of goodness.
    In this namkeen recipe I use a blend of cashews and peanuts, plus almonds and golden raisins. The mixture is tempered with bold spices, including curry leaves and green chiles, for a terrific balance of flavors.
    This fried version of bhuja made with thick poha and fried in oil for an even crispier and more decadent snack.
    This is simple to prepare at home in under 30 minutes, so are great to make as a party snack or even for a quick (healthy-ish) evening treat.

    Ingredients for Fried Chivda Bhuja (for 10-12 servings)
    Oil - for deep fry
    Chivda/Chura/Poha - 3 cups
    Peanuts - 1 cup
    Cashew Nuts - 1 cup
    Almonds - 1 cup
    Raisins - 1 cup
    Kadi Leaves - 1/2 cup or as per your taste
    Green Chilli - 5-6 chopped or as per your taste
    Urad dal papad - 3
    Roasted black Chana - 1 cup
    Aloo Bhujiya - 1 cup
    Sev Sev Bhujiya - 1 cup
    Masala - 3 tsp
    For Bhuja Masala -
    Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
    Roasted Jeera Powder - 1 tsp
    Amachoor Powder - 1 tsp
    Hing - 1/2 tsp
    Black Salt - 1 tsp
