Unbelievability cruelty in this modern age when so many other stories have some how managed to come to a positive resolution.

Never stops being yourself Tyler. You look like a very nice man, I hope you will be happy for the rest of your life and never get back. Life is going forward whatever people or religion thinks or said about that. Spiritual is good but not religion. These are two different things. Be blessed for your honesty and never stops being your self.

You strike me as a good and courageous man who has been ill-treated by many people in your life. You deserve better, and I pray you will find a good partner to share your life with. I too am gay, and it has taken me most of my 70 years to make peace with that fact. But when I found a partner, now over six years ago, it made my life so much happier and more peaceful that I wish everyone had such love in their life. Being gay is not the problem; the reactions of others, and the demonization of sexuality itself in our culture, are the problem. Thanks for sharing your story!

Your father should be so ashamed of himself. You, however, are to be congratulated for incredible courage. You are developing a wisdom your parents will never have.

What seems "unnatural" to me, a non-Mormon: that your parents were more loyal to the Church than to you. Or, put more precisely, that your parents were loyal to the Church and NOT to you; that your existence and life to that point had not succeeded in even DIVIDING their loyalties, of creating inner conflict. Your dad's e-mail to you was priceless. If there are awards for such behavior, I'm sure it will win prizes.

Amazingly difficult coming out. So sorry that you were unsupported by everyone around you. I'm an old guy, 68, and my family was the opposite, all supportive. What I can share with you these 5 years after your video is that no one deserves to share your life that does not love you, as you are, unconditionally. Your strength of character is quite visible in your video. Stay the course and may you enjoy a life of love as you deserve, the family you deserve. All the best to you always.

you are such an incredible person and have unbelievable inner strength. There are millions, hear me, millions of people around you that are just like you and there is absolutely nothing wrong with you. It's normal and you're normal. It took
me till I was 35 to come out but it's the best thing that ever happened in my life. Gay life is amazing. Fuck anyone who won't let you be YOU!! God created you just the way you are and that's how he wants it.

Sad, sad story! I cry for you (and for your family, too, for being so judgmental!). I am a divorced 69-year-old Mormon man who understands what you've been through. Your parents (especially your father) are unworthy parents. Evidently, they do not believe in agency. W are free to make our own decisions. I'm sure they would have preferred Lucifer's plan. Sad! Sad! Sad! I, too, am gay.

Tyler much respect for who you are, and many years of confident love with others and yourself. So sorry you went through what others did to you. I became exhausted with believers who wanted me healed from my sexuality. 79 soon, and very disappointed that I haven’t found a partner, and aloneness is my portion in life. My dad warned me to find someone, I was too screwed up to follow his advice. Love is love.

You sweet, sweet man. I wish I could just throw my arms around you and hold you until every single thing was right in your life.
God is not in the "let's equal things out game." However, I feel certain that one day, all Gods' best will be yours. Blessings.

    Proud of you !!!
I've watched a lot of these videos and so far, in every single one of them, religion is the problem. I'm actually SO grateful for that. It is causing our younger generations to reject religion exponentially, as well as loud mouthed hateful evangelists. Gives me hope that religion won't be such a big influence in the future. I'm not saying people would or should stop believing in whatever god they've chosen to worship. I'm referring to all the associated dogma.

Thank you, Tyler. Your conclusion it powerfull: being ok, with not knowing, how live will play out. I understand, that you decided not to make your happiness depending on people, which don't care about your true self. Everything played out well for me ( i am 60 years old), better than I have thought it ever can, by allways following this same decision, to rather be on my own, than not being myself. You are beautifull. Thank you so much for being out here, to the world and sharing your experiences. Hans

Tyler, My heart goes out to you and if you ever need a "FRIEND", please know you're welcome. I am Gay, 73, divorced and I have a son of my own who came back into dad's life and who I get along with greatly. I was 45 when I came out and one bad gay relationship. I live one lonely life. My son is married and I have a grand daughter. I do live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I have no time for parents who have no backbone and shun their kids. If you need a Dad that you don't have, don't be afraid to call me dad Tyler.

Ugh!! Whatta rough start man on your sexual journey. I was 14-15 when I started messing around with other guys and this is when AOL came out and with that, easy connections so I was so young and meeting men in their 40's. Crazy when I think back on it now. I'm 40 now and can't imagine sleeping with someone 14-15 years of age. I don't even LOOK at males that age and for sure wouldn't mess around with one. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right!?!? Good luck guy!!

There is one universal truth. Religion is as far as you can get from God.
While I can accept the assertion that faith might be divinely inspired , churches are created exclusively by man to assert man's laws with no connection to God beyond the founding mythology.
Put your faith in a God if you must, but NEVER allow a Religion to inform your self-image, because conformity (not righteousness) is an organized Religion's only goal.
No one's honest self-image can ever truly conform (unless your were born a bee or an ant of course).

Does any see the massive psychological coping mechanism of transfers with this guy. His family and the church abuses him and he transfers it on to his boyfriend. He says nothing bad about how his family abused him though they very clearly did. But his boyfriend is the devil. I am mean no one was is forcing this guy to be with his boyfriend.

You are a very strong person to have all these negative experiences coming from so many people in your life. Yet you still find the personal strength to live honestly and openly as your own person. If you are at all interested in church, let me assure you that there are churches that welcome gay people with open and welcoming arms. Check out this website: www.mlp.org

Your church has the wrong message. I don't believe that God loves certain people but not others?! Convert and become a Lutheran. They don't persecute people for being gay!
