"Sadness Comes Home" by Converge from the new album 'All We Love We Leave Behind,' out now! Get it at www.epitaphstor... Facebook: / converge Twitter: / convergecult
I fukken love that tapping on 0:39 and 0:44, and through all the song! Sludgeness, blues swag, power of chorus, drums, and Slayerlike sick riffs and solo's... Holy@#$&!
Lol I found this band reading about John Doe on Wikipedia (not the album, the dead dude no one knows the name of) and the album Jane Doe was in the 'do you mean?' Things and I read about it. This is the first song I've heard from these guys, and I'm impressed. Im gonna give Jane Doe a listen now, but this the best thing iv heard since Metallica or Pantera.
Converge is so damn good at blending genres all across the spectrum, sometimes within a single track. I love that blues riff at the beginning and end, and that hardcore punk riff in the breakdown.
there's no such thing as good enough for arctic eyes and hard earned rust i've grown tired of counting odds to somehow make things even when sadness always comes home sadness comes home sadness comes home cursed to be your second best this amber soul will find no rest i've grown tired of standing up when every one just gives in when sadness always comes home sadness comes home sadness comes home i take so little and i bleed so much my hand me down heart is out of luck i take so little and i bleed so much my hand me down heart is out of luck no such thing as good enough for arctic eyes and hard earned rust i've grown tired of counting odds to somehow make things even when sadness always comes home
@Cornada, they could be considered pioneers in the sense that they were one of the first bands to play the more melodic death metal influenced style of metalcore..aka "melodic metalcore" as opposed to the hardcore influenced metalcore like Converge, Zao, Botch etc. However, I completely agree with you.
Dhieen Well, I don't like TDEP, though I respect their virtues, which I'm aware they're many. I've always thought that Botch has been TDEP's brother band par excellence. The relatively short lived Botch were arguably the fathers of the so called Mathcore (though labels are always questionable, and many bands feel understandably reluctant to be categorized under a simplistic term). They were friends with TDEP and they even toured and made gigs together. Curiously, I do like Botch (their second and last album "We are the Romans" is a masterpiece to my taste). But that's the "threshold of tolerance" for me, I'm not interested in anything going beyond that level of intensity, chaos and cacophony, speaking of "Whatever Core" at least (which, to my ears, is the case of TDEP). I like Converge too, as I consider they are this side of my aforementioned limit. They are also often categorized as Mathcore (once again, I'm aware labels are merely loose frames of reference), but they have a quite varied discography. "Jane Doe" is genearlly regarded as their masterpiece (and I agree) . Give it a listen, I guess you might like it.
Pete Canthropus I didnt knew botch, i'm gonna listen to it! and jane doe okay but you know that TDEP made some various musics? listen to something like widower from them!
The break in the end is awsome, especialy if you just heard the epic madness from the rest of the song. The artwork is amazing as well. But the vocals make me sad, they would be perfect for a small punkrock band but these guys don't sound like a small punkrock band at all so yeah ...
Converge has kinda rejected the "mathcore" term in the past. Kurt always seems to refer to their style as "metallic hardcore", and Jake always just calls is "aggressive music". I mean, people can call it whatever they'd like, but I'm just sayin'.
Killswitch Engage aren't pioneers. They're just a metalcore band that became popular. Converge, along with many other bands, were playing metalcore years before Killswitch even started.
No, I don't think so. Perhaps only the producer (who is the guitarist of this band) has it. You can try to remove the vocals with some software like Audacity, but it doesn't really work well with this type of vocals since Jacob isn't clearly singing.
From Jane Doe on their sound is pretty much the same so I'm not sure I could say they really have a "best" album. I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing but I don't think any of the tracks on their last 5 albums would sound out of place on a single album.
You really shouldn't compare Converge (Mathcore band) to Metallica (Thrash Metal band) or Pantera (Groove Metal band). In my opinion Converge are much better than both, but still, no comparison there.
Check out Cozival, a new Hardcore/Mathcore/Chaotic/Stoner Rock band from Belgium, they just released a new demo song! But much is yet to come! soundcloud.com/cozival/alter-perception-demo
The appropiate response was "your loss", no need to be a douchebag. Really, we should pity that he can't appreaciate such beautiful intense music, not get upset over something soooo trivial.
Is there an instrumental version? I have nothing against these type of vocalists that Epitaph has, but I never actually enjoyed them. I don't hate this band, because they sound amazing, but I would love to hear this without vocals(no clean or growling vocals either).
It's all relative man. I remember Pantera hitting it big when I was in middle school. Slayer and Cliff era Metallica were "old" bands from the 80's my dad listened. To me anything the last 15-20 years is "new" and in 10 years you'll likely feel the same way about kids coming up through the different scenes. When you get a little older others will be where you're at now. I've found that letting people enjoy the music they prefer is the way to go. Fuck gatekeepers and fuck purists. Music is art and everyone else can eat a bag of dicks because the only opinion that should matter to you when it comes to art is you!
They did bring up Metalcore to a bigger audience (mainstream) but that has only led to the creation of shitty bands such as Bring me the Horizon and Asking Alexandria However, they did not change or revolutionize the genre itself
A pseudo-intellectual strives for obscurity (to mistify his readers). A good writer strives for clarity. Like me. Here's exactly what I had to say: To get worked up because someone dislikes something you know to be great is pathetic. You might as well not actually have a good taste, but you probably believe you do, so the only non-infant reaction to it is to shrug it off and know that he's missing on something intense (intense = beautiful) You may now continue attacking strangers, ressentful dude
I fukken love that tapping on 0:39 and 0:44, and through all the song!

Gotta love that bend on 0:15

Если ты говоришь правду, значит это классное совпадение!) But this song is not from Jane Doe album

who is cool enough to hear the punk rock?
@Cornada, they could be considered pioneers in the sense that they were one of the first bands to play the more melodic death metal influenced style of metalcore..aka "melodic metalcore" as opposed to the hardcore influenced metalcore like Converge, Zao, Botch etc. However, I completely agree with you.
I think the latest three albums that Converge did are all better than Jane Doe, which of course is their landmark album...
Love ♡
Holy shit, this song over-intensifies me beyond belief. This song is basically a Red Bull!!
1:00 - 1:11 = BEST!
Makes me want to riot
Fuck yeah this band rocks
This album is fucking amazing
The fucking intro ohh my lord
I heard that dillinger escape plan is the brother of this band, is it true? looks like a little with this song, i dont know converge, but i love TDEP
They are often compared due to their similar intensity and lyrics
KillSwitch66627 I dont really like converge except this song! the others are a little boring... (im discovering) but i love alot of songs of TDEP
Dhieen Try Concubine if you want intensity.

In a way this reminds me of Lifesblood era Mastodon.
How does kurt ballou get this kind of sound from his guitar?
it's magic.
magic
The real question is how the hell the Ben Koller come up with and remember all his drum parts?
I heard he uses some obscure japanese pedals

they have their own genre called "Convergecore"
@@chrisryan2107 I believe it's just "Converge"
It's good shit

Great! Brilliant graph) What's programm use when creat this? Anyone?
this song is very doomy!! fucking love it!!

Wow, the guitar into is way down south y'all.

Jake paul

I think in phil Anselmo in the vocals!!!

converge is a lot of things but mathcore is not one of them. take off your apron and go home, you're leaving hells kitchen.
