Not sure exactly why. But when they sing "I reach my cold arm across the bed. *You make no move. You never do*". Those simple words are (to me) some of the saddest most misery invoking words ive ever heard. They truly embody the entirety of a loveless relationship. Its miserable. But beautiful how its so simply put.
Grats on identifying with the emotional experiences conveyed by music. Young adulthood’s lows are followed by the even greater lows of middle age. One bowl of shit, after the other.
There were times where I’d hold onto her after loving, and it’d be like I was holding dead weight. Its only later I realized just how cold I felt even pressed up against her; this song is definitely an accurate reflection of my state at the time.
Being in a loveless relationship really fucks with you and your sense of self worth. I am glad that music like this exists, because it's a reminder that shitty experiences can be turned into something cathartic and meaningful. The lyrics are very profound in their simplicity.

not similar, but speaking of long and touching songs - "Grimm Heart/Black Rose" and their Cure cover for the song "Disintegration" is something you could probably give a listen or two.
Worth a shot! I'll check them out. I'm this song makes me feel high when I'm not lol and I get drug tested for work.... so I need a whole band who can do thi
+jim hemp Hmm, I think I know what you're talking about. This band has a lot of atmosphere, emotion and their melodies are more dysfunctional and eerie sounding... Red Sea - ISIS has a feeling similar to this. Check that song/band out along with others such as ZAO - Intro, Norma Jean - Pretty Soon I Don't Know What but Something is Going to Happen, Old Man Gloom - Gift, Omegas Massif - Unter Null, Deftones - Battle Axe, GAZA - Routine and Then Death etc
Berserk did bring me here 💪🏼
this song is one of the greatest songs of all time imho
The Frantik I feel completely comfortable saying that this is absolutely the greatest song I’ve ever heard in my lifetime.
Without a doubt, one of the best in history. The dynamics are complex and insane. They took what neurosis had and stepped it up. Just beautiful
I agree.
"Own my damage. Own my scars. They paint a broken life's shattered art" Bannon is truely and amazing lyricist.
Definitely
Don’t think Bannon would have written these. It’s Mookie from Genghis Tron singing

To me too broh, its hurt me right

Crying right now reading all of this. Sailing in the same miserable boat. What a wretched world we live in...

This fits so well with Berserk
You came from a loli?
@@hakan6968 Yep I liked this song so much in his Berserk video. I had to come and see where it came from Converge is now one of my favourite bands.
@@DarkMaster64999 That berserk video refreshed my song library too
Full of new songs to listen to
It's better than...
PUT YO GRASSES ON...
loli is converges #1 promoter now
it's like pure sadness
growing with every second of the song
After all these years I can't think of sadder track. I swear ai can feel how cold this music is. 'Time won't turn my wretched world'
This track is so intense.. Just massive.. So overwhelming. I love it, can't stop listening it
Such a beautifully crafted and cathartic piece of music.
the voice in this song is provided by the singer of Genghis Tron. Check their album Board up the house, one of my favourites
everything is this song is maximum.. his voice, the lyrics, the melodie..
I adore this song. I just adore it.
does Converge have similar songs to this??? cos is just beautiful...
This song cuts so deep into my soul, the beauty of the lyrics, rythm, vocals and guitars is not of this world.. genius
The eloquence of these lyrics is beautiful. If you've been there, you know exactly what i mean
I remember seeing them close a set back in Boston with this.
What an amazing song.

Cruel Bloom, Grim Heart/Black Rose, In Her Shadow, Ten Cents, Minnesota
So this is how guts feels huh
Lol
My avatar probably says enough but this album and this song are absolutely perfect. It’s Jane Doe but reconsidered and rephrased.
I love the fact that the whole of Genghis Tron featured on this song
I would feel like this would be a pretty sweet song to cue anytime i walked into any place.
Beautiful song.
i LOVED IT, great song...
There's an acoustic song called in her shadow I like a lot, and another song kind of like this but still with a diff style called Cruel Bloom.
not similar, but speaking of long and touching songs - "Grimm Heart/Black Rose" and their Cure cover for the song "Disintegration" is something you could probably give a listen or two.
I approve this message.
This is awesome!
they had a lot of guest appearances on the album actually
story of my life
Wow.
thank you
Oh shit, they were? Thats kool, I didn't know that.
thanks
@oldelectro90 Do you feel like he is bringing some of his solo project into the album with this song though?
the precursor of 'wear your wounds' j.b.'s side project band.
Can anyone tell me a band that sounds like this song?
jim hemp Planes Mistake For Stars, maybe?
Worth a shot! I'll check them out. I'm this song makes me feel high when I'm not lol and I get drug tested for work.... so I need a whole band who can do thi
This
jim hemp Genghis Tron (this song is actually played by Converge and Genghis Tron....)

However Jake has some vocals in this song, in the background.
sounds like a crowbar song
mondoraptor I’m a huge Crowbar fan and I don’t hear that at all. Neurosis? Definitely. But not crowbar.
@kamikadx Wretched world is kinda similar!
Where exactly is the line 'To stand in your shadow is to be home?'
@bergmik thanks my friend I thought I was going crazy much appreciated
har har
I never knew before that the lyrics are also on the right, but less legible.
Fkn 33 yes all systems hll haf kab lab
Misery.
the singer needs to be louder cause the guitars and drums are drowning him out
Queen Unicorn I disagree. The vocals blend right in with the music as opposed to sounding like they're layed on top like a pop song or something.
My world's soundtrack.
Berserk.
