The reason it's louder is because water is trapped inside the pump. You have to jiggle it under water to escape all the bubbles then it's quite.

would it work well working at least in a 50x50x50cm aquarium? or would it get too strong?

I really wish you would have shown the actual water movement.

Great to see another review. In Canada and Asia they are marketed under the Glamorca brand. Same pump, same controller, different name. Absolutely love mine.
Thanks for the video. Cheers 🍻

Great review Jeff and for the price it seems like it is worth a look. I especially like the sleeves that will keep critters out.

It's definitely a well thought out product at a huge value. Thanks for watching Scott.

It's Epic. Not one complaint at alllllll. So very quite. And my Clowns have a ball on random mode during the afternoon. Continuous during the morning. And lite pulse at night. Love it 🐠🌺🐟🌸 #KeepReefing

It has a lot of features of a much more expense power head. Glad you like it.

like the video. how much does this run for and would you say it could run a 29 gal as the only pump?

Dee From Brooklyn to be honest I have used it in awhile. I tried using it a few weeks ago but I lost the power cord.😒

Looks like the main diff between this and the 230 is the mounting arms... mine has two and doesn't pull away from the mount. It will quiet down when it breaks in... you will also lose power as it gets quieter... nice vid man. You are killin these reviews ✊🏾

      @MadHattersReef  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I'm impressed with how much power this little guy has. How Long would you say it takes to break in?

Mad Hatter's Reef using 2 of them on my 120gallon reef.... the older gyre 130 took about 2-3 weeks before it broke in on my jbj tank ... virtually silent at 30-40% at that point

Sweet looking and performing pump for the price and if its new on the market then just in time for when I upgrade my system. I have been looking at the MP 40's (like a lot) and the Maxspect gyre (seems ok). This is equal to the gyre at half the price of either so you may see one in my system soon....if they're available in UK also lol

Jeff, how do you like this pump now. Is it still on your system? Has it broke in and gotten quieter? Thanks in advance

It’s a good pump. I recently took a look at the 1k and was impressed with the steps forward they have made. I’m not currently using this in any of my tanks. It’s a good pump for the medium size tanks 55 to 90 gallon. I would need something bigger for my 220 gallon.

This is where I am at. I am liking the idea of the 3k, but having a 240gal I don't know if it's enough. having some flow issues I have to deal with. thanks for the review

I just put an Icecap 3K gyre in my Redsea Reefer XL 525 a couple of days ago. I notice the noise when it is set to a high output but in my smaller 100 gal box I had to dial it down to less than 50% output. I am still messing with the settings. The Vortech MP 10s were easier to set for night mode and I'm stuck on the 24 hour auto mode of this pump. I like everything to auto dial down for the night. It sounds like you understand how to set this up. The instructions might as well be algebra for me. If you do make an update on the pump with some instruction, I for one would be very grateful. Thank you for your time.

I plan on doing a recap on all my reviews after I have had some time to better understand how things work. I as well like to have things calm down towards night when I figure it out I'll let you know.
