PGR2 is such a special game to me. For one, it is - in my opinion - the most fun racing game of all time. But the other reason is that it's the game that sold me on Xbox Live. My wife bought me PGR2 for Christmas of 2003 and I found a great group of guys that I would get on and race with nightly. The online lobby system allowed the lobby creator to restrict the lobby to certain tracks, cars and car classes. I remember the ability yo restrict to specific car classes made the races really fun and diverse but still fair because the cars were all pretty close to each other in terms of performance. Add in the amazing graphics, fantastic controls, amazing features like the first person garage and the hidden gem in the garage that was the Geometry Wars arcade machine (I have a friend that doesn't play racing games but would come over just to play Geometry Wars in my PGR2 garage lol) and PGR2 was one of the most criminally overlooked games ever.
PGR will always be my favorite since it was essentially Metropolis Street Racer on the dreamcast. Apex, group s challenge, auto modellista, rallisport, 4x4 evo2 etc.. were all special.
Apex was awesome not only cause you could build your own cars, but also that it was one of the first racing games that allowed custom soundtracks from your hard drive at the time! Edit: I'm not sure if OutRun 2 was exclusive, but that game was fun as well! Was playing it last week as a matter of fact.
In Europe Apex was pulled from sale very quickly as the game has a fatal save bug which was never fixed, patched and the game was never re-released. If I remember correct the game doesn't save properly if you have too many "other" game saves on the harddrive. The only way to safely play it is if your hardrive is almost empty of save data. That's partly why it's largely forgotten. I don't know if the bug exists in the USA version tho.
Oh man, an Argonaut developed ski doo game!? That is so cool. How have I not heard of it until now? Of all the genres in need of a revival I would absolutely kill for some Xtreme sports games like we used to get in the 90s and early 2000s.
I absolutely loved this video, and I just subscribed !! I recently started OG XboX collecting, and I am going to check out the games you have on this list as they all look like a lot of fun to me. I owned an original XboX back in the day, and I liked it way better than PS2 and GameCube. Some of my favorite XboX racing games are Artic Thunder, Blood Wake, and Roadkill. I mean, I guess technically, they are vehicle combat games, but you are driving nonetheless 😂 Midway Arcade Treasures 3 has some great racing games as well. Anyway thanks for the video and Team Xbox 4life !!
Was certainly an exclusive for a short period. Regardless, the Xbox version was arguably the definitive version. It looked absolutely amazing on the Xbox.

Sega GT 2002 is also an essential one. To have that game bundled with JSRF and the console was one heck of a deal.
I had that too and loved it..I also had Star Wars the clone wars that was bundled with the Tetris game
I had dreamcast and loved Sega gt xbox did Sega gt 2002 was a dream but I still prefer the original you could do anything with the cars it was mad

PGR 2 is my all time favorite racing game.
Test Drive Le Mans for the Dreamcast is my 2nd favorite
Apex was my jam. The story mode, customization, custom soundtracks
Recently picked up Apex, I was surprised with how it actually felt good!

Bring back 4x4 evo man that was a great series
I thought quantum redshift was pretty good. Xboxs answer to wipeout.
Yeah that one almost made the list. Definitely need to talk about that one soon.
Quantum Redshift is a great exclusive for the Xbox.
Yeah I need to take a deep dive into that one.
I loved mad dash 😁😁

Hard agree. Would love an Xtreme sport revival.
