Thank you so much for this. I kept my old G5 for years and was always asking myself "Why do you keep this thing?" This year I wanted to get back to gaming, and ended up wanting to build a PC by myself... Now I know why I kept it! Thank you again for this wonderful video.
Hi Micro Holder... what tool is used to take out the screws at the back of the top shelf? i got everything else done today, but can't find a tool to get those little suckers out. thanks in advance!
Really appreciate this video because it is (as far as I can see) the only one that describes how to disassemble the G5 without smashing it up. Especially helpful is the removal of that top tray ... I tried to figure it out myself but didn’t realise those clips/springs had to be pinged off. I do have a few questions: were the original motherboard standoffs simply glued on? And: what blue ray player did you use and was it easy to get in?
I glued the standoffs with epoxy, it adheres to aluminium really well, but it would have been better to drill holes in the case and screw in the stand offs. I may try that in the nest build I am planning.

I love the minimal-modification approach.Thanks for sharing.
Calm, easy to listen to and informative. Looking forward to part 2.
Awesome, thank you!
This is the best walkthrough. I had issues with some of the items and this video helped a ton
Thank you for the video! I’ve got a power Mac g5 also and wanted to know how to convert it! Keep uploading these videos!

Can you publish all rhe components used along with links where to purchase them.

Glad it helped, thanks for the kind comments.

👍
Why would you destroy a G5? You could have optimized or upgraded it.
you should not have used a liquid cooled one to do this. it s a rare model
