      @@mollyhatchet7075that’s fair. Lol. But yes, his mom is at peace now with God and is definitely not missing a moment of any of their lives. 💕🥰
      I lost my dad to cancer when my nephew was a newborn. He is 5 now and talks about my dad as if he’s known him all his life and has recognized his picture before he could even fully talk. To this day, he asks us why he can’t see grampy anymore and that he misses playing with him. (Sadly, when kids start to age, they slowly lose the ability to see them as they get more ingrained in life) But, needless to say, we were shocked, but what better validation right? Lol. ❤

    What a terrible thing for a kid to have to go through. Freddie turned out a very outstanding man, father, and role model for the kids getting into baseball. I have always called him Mr. baseball. I’ve been a Braves fan since Hammering Hank played. Thanks Freddie for helping giving us a world championship! Congratulations on this one with the Dodgers! I hope you have a long and healthy career. God bless!

    you don't process it as a 10 year old :( . I'm the same age as Freddie, and i lost my grandfather - who was basically my dad - at the same age, also to cancer. I was there when he took his last breath. And I honestly didn't know i had PTSD from the whole thing til i was in my 30s. Didn't start mourning the man til a few years ago. I love you Freddie. You deserve all the good things

    • @Avalee325
      @Avalee325 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Aw man, I can understand that. I lost my dad to cancer too and anyone that knows cancer knows it can be a long, slow decline and so I’d not be surprised if people or even myself have PTSD from something like this. You’re kind of on auto pilot going through it, but then when it’s over… that’s almost the harder part. Because I don’t know how many of us can successfully process it all AS we are going through it. You usually have to deal with all that after and it sucks 😢
      But it’s been 5 years for me and I’m still telling myself to take one day at a time. You’re definitely not alone. Hugs 😘❤

    The pain never ceases. The mourning of such a loss changes over time but never goes away. The trauma that a 10 year old Freddie endured and still endures is evidenced by this vid. Thank you Freddie for being real. As a lifelong Astros fan I only began rooting for the Dodgers success when I heard your story. Congratulations on the WS & MVP. Well deserved…
    My Mom (my best friend) passed when I was 11 to breast cancer. I have 2 brothers. The Houston Pony league team I was on was the Dodgers, wore #5, played first base, and was left handed. Crazy..crazy..
    In fact our Pony league team actually lost to a Pony league team from Santa Susanna, CA in the Pony League WS of 1983.

I delivered flowers for his thanksgiving dinner at his aunts house after the Dodgers eliminated them in 2020. I said to his aunt tell Freddie congratulations on the mvp but i am dodger fan. Fast foward he’s a dodger an legend on the field forever with his homers.

    This dude was able 2 bounce back and become a mlb star..which means he continued with little league high school and college..that's strength..it could have easily gone way different...when a young boy suffers loss PTSD follows then depression...then alcohol or drugs to cope...but this dude not only was able 2 cope without..but ended up doing something that most can only dream of...

    You can tell even after so many years it affects him so deeply. I lost my mom at 11 to cancer and it has affected so in so many ways. She passed away at around the same age as rosemary. Life didn't seem fair and no child should have to lose their parent to such a horrible death and disease. Hug and love your parents everyday as time passes and when they are gone it's too late. My life was never the same again and went through so much grief, sadness and depression. Now I'm in my 40s and it still affects me till this day. Freddie you are an inspiration to all. I’m so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks hearing you tell this story, but just know your mom is now in a better place with our Heavenly Father Jesus Christ Lord and savior. I know your mom’s looking down and is soooo proud of you and the person you’ve become. Stay strong to you and your beautiful family. God bless you and your family. +=❤ 🙏🏼 🙌🏼

    Jesus gave your seibling and you the greatest a mother that taught you so much. Love she had for her children and memories you have. She will be in your mind and heart till lord calls you home. My sister was killed I have cried 16 years and I will till my Heavenly Father calls me home. We will meet again that I do know. No more suffering and such a mansion they are in.
