Another virtuosic rock trio that started out as a LTS cover band is Sokoninaru (そこに鳴る) which has gained a sizable international fan base recently.
@destinationsunnyside250 it makes no sense to me either... its not just free advertising/marketing they actually get 100% of they revenue from my reactions. One ok rock, ado, asterism... they block a lot.

I believe they are also on Sony's label now, who are also not the best with blocking. I am surprised you didn't have too many problems with Maximum The Hormone, which is an other band that apparently is really bad with blocking from what I have heard. Most bands on bigger Japanese labels (think Sony, Universal, Warner, Avex, ...) can be very hit or miss from what I have heard. Ado seems to be under Universal. I don't understand why they don't see how much youtube helps with a bands exposure in the West (especially for smaller bands like Asterism), but apparently they don't really see it yet. I have heard multiple times that mainly music videos tend to be a problem because a lot of money went into shooting those and the actual video is property of the label, while live music is generally owned by the band somewhat. An other issue is that a lot of bands in Japan have more expensive limited editions of their albums and EP's and they typically come with DVD's and Blu-rays of either live concerts or music videos.

I have actively trying to avoid her for a while so I have no other things to base this on. Not going to lie, some of the vocal lines sound extremely edited and possibly auto-tuned or changed in post, it's very electronic sounding at points, I am somewhat disappointed with all the hype around her vocals. I assume this is off a blu-ray release or something, it is what it is but I prefer less production for live music. I am still not 100% convinced she couldn't be AI or "vocaloid" driven to be honest. Unlike an act like Zutomayo or Yorushika (they don't show their faces either) where it's clearly people standing on stage, this could be whatever projection behind a curtain, but I can see why people like her as much as they do and it doesn't mean there is no room for this music which is clearly doing very well. The vocals were sounding too altered for my taste but I liked the performance overall, and I have no doubt that if it is a real person singing it wouldn't have as much electronica on it if you were to see her live (not from some processed video). I am not a huge fan of the Asterism cover with Pellek, which also has post-production on the vocals for their "live" video, but I enjoy that one more than this one (which I believe is the original?). All in all I might check out something else by Ado over time, it's unfortunate that Japan has such strict rules on fancams because I want to be able to hear an unprocessed vocal which we will probably never going to get without going to a concert. I highly doubt that she is not human. Still, Vocaloid programs have some limitations that Ado clearly surpasses, and in general, to be honest, it sounds a little crazy. Of course, I don’t rule out the possibility that they may have developed some unique version of a Vocaloid program or bank that I don’t know about, but I highly doubt that the progress could be so significant that it would be possible to make SUCH live recordings. In general, yes, there is minimal processing of vocals, but this does not diminish her vocal abilities at all.
@MaartenT there is one nice recording of an interview where she described in details how to sing her other song Show; Linking a specific moment where she tries to sing a complete fragment. It's in Japanese but shows how detailed every line truly is. th-cam.com/video/8BU6LMzMquU/w-d-xo.html She basically has no concern for sounding perfect and always goes literally all over the place - which so far works great for all of the songs. I suppose learning how to sing as an AI helps with sounding more AI-like...

A while ago Murata Tamu's husband (who is a video game producer eg. on the SIlent Hill series) created a cover of Nemophila's Life purely with synthesized vocals (check 【Synthesizer V】LIFE (NEMOPHILA) COVER ) and I was amazed on how good some parts sounded, there were only some parts where it was clear it was synthesized. I am sure there is software out there that can do way more than we can imagine. I heard a lot of electronic steps in this recording that is typically present if you use auto-tune, also her screams/shouts were clearly clipping/distorted as well. I am 99% sure there is post-production on her vocals here, which would be weird if she wouldn't care about how she sounded (although her management might think different about that). Does that mean she is fake? Absolutely not, I think it's mainly done on this specific video/recording, but I always heard how raw her vocals were and this is basically the opposite of that which disappointed me a bit, that's all.
