She speaks Cantonese perfectly. Intonation and enunciation are both precise. But what's most impressive is that she's obviously truly bilingual. Her English is impeccable as well! She could make a professional simultaneous interpreter. If only she is conversant in Putonghua as well, she'd be a true linguistic maestro!
We also mix when sometimes we can't remember a certain word in a certain language so I feel it is pretty useful to know the same word in a different language.
@warnexus and it is necessary for her to do that. She is teaching english communications. So using it as a mix helps the students learn or to see if they even understand what they have learned.
I also feel, people mixing languages is cool in a way because it is breaking down cultural barriers, and in a way they (native Hong Kongers) can put theirselves on a level with us chinese that have lived overseas and feel ashamed to not completely know the language.
It's hard for some of us to blend in sometimes when your different in the slightest. If every major city in the world was diversified over time and kept their City's cultural distinctiveness, World peace would be so much closer to grasp. And the Vision of Star Trek could actually come to life.
I think this is great, seeing different culture merging into the Hong Kong culture. I think people should not be racist no matter if your American or African or Chinese or European or even Indians, we're all human beings, we have rights to work together. I am a Chinese is have friends that are Indians, Sri Lankans, French, American. They are all really kind, SO STOP BEING A FUC****G RACIST HERE
I do. I dunno about the general population. I spent half my life in Hong Kong and about the other half in America. I dont think I'm as fluent in either english and cantonese as my cantlish.
she uses too much english words while speaking cantonese. And that girl janus does the same thing! Does all HK-youngsters mix that awfully? I'm second generation chinese living in Sweden, and I don't mix that much!
Good god that older Indian lady talks just like my mom and it's blowing my mind all over the ceiling.
