- Thames Path Day 6, walking out of London into the greener parts of South London - a rainy day to Richmond via Kew Gardens (aka the Plant Prison!), Putney, Hammersmith and Barnes.
We find where Holst lived when he wrote The Planets, uncover a mystery about the secret lost Victorian Twickenham foot tunnel, what the King's Time is, have a nice lunch at a reservoir, complain bitterly about the Helicopters, noisy rowers, planes and Lime Bikes like all people do on local Facebook groups!
And we get videobombed by squirrels, geese and coots.
And apologies to @AnIdiotOutdoors for borrowing his two catchphrases....but it's THE Bridge! How can you not?
I moved to New York after living in London for a couple of years. Even though it can get colder here the dampness in London is harder to deal with.
Still London is a great city in the summer.
It is....but nature of the river valley I guess, it's very damp!
love seeing the urban parts, housing, bridges. the state some of it is in though..
Yeah it's a real mixture.
Another excellent addition to the series, Tim 👍 It was nice to finally see some actual green space but i can't believe you still haven't reached the point where I started my trip across England! I'm guessing that'll be on the next one from where you ended this one
If it was Teddington, then yes....
Brilliant stuff once again Tim! "Scary squirell!" I'm certain that got said twice? And the reference to "the bridge." You forgot to point. Good old pointy finger 👉 Ha ha. That caught me off guard to be fair. I did crack up at that. My nonsense is contagious 😮🫡
Very contagious! I do more pointing later on...
Im Battersea born and bred, me and mum might buy our flat back
It is an interesting place - then and now.
