this song resonates with me because of the line "Good kid, good kid drowning from "do your best"" because im in a gifted program at school and everybody is like "you're so smart" and when people say do your best they expect far more from you and when i live up to their expectations they just call me smart, they dont commend the work put in or anything, it makes it seem like its all about how "im super smart" when its far more than that, and when i dont live up to their expectations it makes me feel like im a failure and need to do better, the first time i got a b i genuinely felt stupid cause most of my friends had all a's and they basically still do, also i used to just bottle up my emotions and i feel like stuff like that has made me far more volatile when it comes to negative emotions
(P.S. sorry for ranting and venting, im not good at writing in smaller groups when its something like this)
