I think he has previously mentioned that he is a professional photographer and worked for movies or something along those lines. He surely is qualified. Doesn't look like a newbie to me.
He used to live out of his Jeep, but I think he has a house now. Living out of a vehicle is not a hindrance to getting stunning nature photos and videos, it facilitates it. The best way to get those golden hour shots in amazing places is to camp nearby.
I go on multiple ~2 week trips a year living out of my 4x4 and taking nature photos. Nothing close to the quality that Drew produces, but I enjoy it.

I dont consider this as a video , an image nor a motion picture but an amazing work of art created by someone who has genuine passion for this genre of film making. I know how much time and effort it takes to plan, wait, consistently get up before dawn, manage equipment, batteries, the elements, and bring all the footage home for hours and hours of culling and selects, music choices and edits. Have you ever thought about putting together a teaching retreat? I would sell a kidney to learn from you in the elements.

The water-dip…those moments that make you feel ALIVE! -- Ice shards on beach look like crystal fossils. Oh, and niiiiiice rock skimming! And still that bird remains sentinel…
Drew this is absolutely incredible. Having been to Iceland earlier this year - with my amateur gear including a DJI drone - I dreamed of photographs and footage like this. I'm sorry to say that my work could not come close. What I see in my own photographs and video is the experience and the nostalgia of a great trip. What I see in your work is inspiration to go again, and again. The patterns and textures you capture are the highlight for me. Great work ! Please keep up this amazing craft you share!
