Yay welcome!! I def think it’s worth trying the dance class at least once, I think you’ll find people are usually encouraging even if you’re only attempting to speak broken Japanese!

Hmm when I first moved to Kyoto I was looking for friends and had a viewer from this area Instagram message me directly. We were around the same age so I agreed to meet up in a popular tourist area to go sightseeing together. We’re still friends to this day! Reaching out and making the first friend move can be hard, but people are usually nice and excited to make friends, especially with people from Japan!

I only ask because I wish to attend school in Japan within the year, and am now faced with needing to come to a decision on which major city I would like to actually live in. I am torn between attending a school in Kyoto or Tokyo, and I was wondering if you had the chance to do it all over again, would you rather live in a different city/province, or would you still go to Kyoto? Hello! This is a great question. 10000% Kyoto! It’s much cheaper, theres TONS of sightseeing to do here, and always interesting events/festivals going on. It’s also really central, so you can travel to anywhere in Japan. Tokyo is only 2.5 hours away by Shinkansen so you can visit anytime. Hope this helps! And best of luck moving~ ^^

In my experience, most people here are also introverted and appreciate having a fellow introverted friend! I'm actually super introverted in real life myself >.
