I used to work in that office park in Alpharetta. The sad part is - in the video you can't tell by looking at the parking lot if it is a weekday or a weekend! Also, the exaltation when the drone comes out of the tree - is dare I say... heartwarming! It is only 8am, but that could be the best thing I experience today. Thanks, Ken!
Watching your vids always reminds me to have fun flying and not to take all my flights all too seriously... Another great story you shared here! Solving problems with some sense of humor can always give us good results ^_^
Climbed approx 40ft up a tree to get my A2S and two weeks later it got stuck in a taller tree, about 65 feet. Tried your string trick, using my air 2. String was too heavy. Bought twine, that didn't work because the wind picked up and the twine got caught in the tree. A2 was tossed around when the branches moved, down it came. Long story short, high winds blew the A2S down the next morning.
Great idea Ken! That probably saved y’all from camping out there for the night. Haha! The skate-PV was downright cool too! I think you need to continue to develop that idea; maybe hook a drone to each end! 🤔
Brilliant rescue buddy. By the way I'm 58 and I can still skateboard lol. Also I recently had a power skateboard that went really fast. Until I hit a pot hole at 30mph. After I recovered from my injuries my mrs made me sell it. I now stick to an E bike lol. Keep these coming dude

Living in Oregon, I've become quite adept at retrieving my kwads from some serious trees. I've always used the fishing line method and a wrist rocket to launch over the tree.....but I think I like the idea of using a smaller drone to carry the line right where I need it Drone Retrieval Kit: Spool of fishing line Many fishing weights 200' of paracord (extremely important to store in a "Paracord Donut") Wrist Rocket 26' Golfball Retriever (this collapses to 4') With this kit, no tree has confiscated my kwad for more than 40 min even all by my lonesome

Hey I too rescued a drone out of a tree in Atlanta(well, Alpharetta really) using the truck method. 7ish years ago my buddy got a job flying what I assume to be a 1st Gen inspire. He let me fly it around but I just hovered around the parking lot, however the guy who got paid to fly it got it stuck about 80ft up in a tree. Took all day and a truck to get it out, broke an arm or two but otherwise salvageable.
@@KenHeron Just had my first drone confrontation! That was fast. Uneducated park ranger, I informed her she was wrong, was polite but assertive, and I just landed like she asked and left. She said "the website says so, you should check the rules as with anything". So you know what I did? I check the website, and guess what it said? It explicitly states that you ARE ALLOWED to fly UAS's in the park for recreation as long as you are following FAA guidelines, which I was. I'll be going back soon, hopefully see her again!
