  • I've debated making this video for a long time, because I wasn't sure if I should post something on a rather touchy subject, especially after not having posted anything in a while. I am in no way an advocate for disability rights, just a normal guy speaking out. Discussion is strongly encouraged, but please--and I mean PLEASE--no trolling. This is meant to be informative, not exploitation.
For a more informative video on cerebral palsy, check out youtuber Dayna Marie, who also has CP. Not only does she do a damn good job, but her condition is mild like mine: • Video

Thank you for sharing, Jake! We need this; both people with disabilities, and without. Keep spreading the word!

As long as you can do what you love, you live your life my dude. If anything is holding you back, then you can always get around it. Came from your review on Those Shocking, Shaking Days. Love from Indonesia!

I hate cp because I hate stiff leg limbs and I hate the way my ankles are but I'm not going to give up

Emmanuel Cardona Thanks for your input. Your bravery comes not only from countering perception of cerebral palsy, but coping with the condition itself. I feel like the very essence of the term "cerebral palsy" is distorted beyond belief, and some cold, hard truth needs to be set forward. I have so much more to say on this matter though, even if it means having diverted from this channel's identity, which is otherwise music. Despite that, I'm glad this video resonated with you in some way.

+Jake Kussmaul my cp is just stopping me from getting into martial arts and bodybuilding but I should take your video as motivation

Ah, it can be tough to participate in those things if you're more severely affected. This might sound super cliche, but just keep on going. Find a path that's uniquely your own and stick to it. Again, thank you for your perspective, and I hope that this video continues to resonate with others.

+Jake Kussmaul and one more question I'm walking better with my walker and I'm trying to walk with out it but I can't do it does that mean I still have signs of weakness

Not necessarily. You're not at fault for having something that hinders you from walking on your own. It is possible to improve your symptoms since CP is not progressive. I sense that your spectrum is relatively mild. In that case, you can definitely improve by implementing a consistent effort. One of my schoolmates I knew from a long time ago used his walker every day, and he was able to have more control over his body because of that effort. I have faith that you will similarly be able to benefit.
