Hey Mike... did you by any chance draw up the plans for the build? Even a list of bits and parts would be a good addition - I'm interested in building one of these myself since my tower just got bent up by a wind on the edge of a tornado! Nice design! 73 KK0DJ
I love the simplicity of this setup. I'm in a suburban area where I would like to raise and lower my antenna tower. Partly so I can test/try different antennas, and keep it down during periods where I am not using base station, which can go for a few months at a time due to work, etc. Is the irrigation pipe steel, or aluminum? Also, are the stubs sticking out leftover from being an irrigation pipe with water heads/sprinklers on there? Thanks again for sharing your great setup!! 7 3, Jim - K6XWX
You stopped videoing at the most interesting point. When using the tilt joint to erect the hexbeam. That was the most obvious highlight of any video. Raising the tower is fairly standard. I guess no thought went into the video. Which is a shame because, by the looks of it the home made tilt plate was the most interesting aspect.
I reall liked your video. I wish you would show how you made the tower.
Lots of thought and work! Great job!!
Nice video, tower and HEX beam.
Thanks
I hope those overhead power lines are farther from this antenna than they seem to be in the video.
They are. thanks for watching !
That is Pretty good Mike ya Nailed it for video Production ...did'nt realise how big it really is ......73 de Bob VK4LA
FANTASTIC, enjoy.
Thanks, will do!
Any photo of the base plate attachment to the mast?
Nice job and great video. Real Ham Radio do it your self.
Looks a little close to the Power Lines if it fell, but it's hard to tell from the video. Great idea.
Not close at all,and it only tilts away from them...thanks for your comments.

Thanks it was fun to build
nice mast and hex beam , but is it working like 2 element yagy
Yes it is like a two element beam with a gain of about 5.5 dBi over a dipole
How tall is you pole, looks like about 30 feet what do you say
Hex beam is here .www.k4kio.com/
I can only wish for a tower and antenna like yours. Hi Hi

Redo the video and show the tilt mechanism in action. We all know how to raise and lower a tower, mate.
Is that the u.s. flag laying on the ground??
