On the way to North Sea today where it's too shallow for the foil. Knee deep and no wingers kite/windfoilers anywhere. Fin is most fun anyway as long as there's wind!
Cool vid Mario, thanks! Love the R+D Dragan is investing in his boards. Need some context tho. 7.8 is not a small wind sail according to my terms. You must be under 75 kgs, it might work under 15 knots with a lot of pumping, but not on a gusty lake with 85+ rider and between 10-15 knots of wind.
I sold all my slalom stuff and went to freeride foiling. Short board about 190x68cm. No more 8.6 and 9.4 sails, only 4.4 and 4.8. Light stuff and great fun at my lakes in switzerland. And much much better for my old knees
Windfoiling can ADD new interest to windsurf, especially in light winds, but it is something a bit different and it doesn't work with shallow waters and seaweeds (note, problems that ALWAYS encounter the trendy wingfoilers...). But more than all the feeling of the water, the skim the wave behind the stern... I rig my unconventional Hot Speedfreak 10 over my big 160 liters board and what a blast... Yes under the planing threshold it's time for my low aspect foil
There are few foilers faster than me on my big board. I have absolutely the same opinion as Arnon, mr. Dagan for me. Ok, foiling starts in even lower winds. But just trying to keeping the balance in the poop-position, is not for me.
it's funny to me that you speak about this like it is a BIG slalom (which it is) I still sail a JP SLW92 which some called a "FreeFormula" 🙂 like it BEST with sails in the 9-10m² range bon vent joe windsurfer
I still prefer the formula boards over big lightwind boards.....I tested them against each other, formula board was far more fun.....I immediately sold the big lightwind board afterwards......and if it gets really windy I go wavesailing on a board almost half the size
Big board, big sail, big fun. My favourite board.
Lightwindboards are amazing! The lift gives you so much sensations
love big board, i use with 9.2 and in 12 knots you can go full power
Nice video! Love it!
85 slalom board are really fun. Nice explanations from Arnon 🤙 To Mario - your trim looks awsome💥
it looks huge in the video! like it. looks like 150 liters. maybe because its so short
Looking forward to seeing more fin Slalom next season! Great also to hear that some fin riders may return to PWA events next year.
oh thats great news! love it
Very interesting! Foiling did a little eat light wind slalom gear, but this kind of windsurfing keep still funny and interesting to practice!
In weedy lakes the fin is the way to go. Get an old formula board with a +9m sail and you slice right through the weeds

Arnon is genius

I want one!
Excelente. !! Bravo. (ar)
I need big boards because of my weight. 😢 For me a big Board Starts at 140 liters. I don't Like foiling. I use sails up to 9.3.
Great, informational video. And Arnon 👍 💪
77cm 8.6qm and 95kg for me the perfect combination. Bigger is just to big. Surfing a door ist just not so much fun. 77cm is still a "fun board"

And if its get really windy, I am on my wave gear in Holland
Wow Mario maybe don’t interrupt him when he’s trying to answer your questions.

801% of windsurfers sail with light winds.
Kill the sport AGAIN by not producing them.
